@izumikoushiroweek: Day 2 - What is something you wish we saw happen for Koushirou in canon? / What is your favourite Koushirou or Izzy quote?

The lines included here are from the little "Candle of Life" snippet that was included in the Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna novels - but they were never part of the actual movie, nor were they adapted as a short or an audio drama. It's been several years now and I am still mourning the fact that this scene NEVER got animated - so I had decided to illustrate it myself a few years ago. This may call for a redraw one day, but maybe, if The Beginning is successful, we may see something similar like this in the future. Who knows...?

Either way, this quote is so character-defining; it's Tentomon speaking his mind on the subject of selflessness and Koushirou agrees wholeheartedly in this segment. And it's exactly what he's done time and time again and that will always be one of his most outstanding traits in my opinion.

Don't we all love to see more of the Izumi family? I certainly do and I am 100% convinced that this would end up being their preferred method of communication while Koushirou is in his early to mid twenties. He is a communicator through and through, he would have made sure to enable all his loved ones with proper devices to stay in touch with - but he may also neglect his personal needs a little too much. Thus it's important to have his Digimon partner nudge him towards remembering to call his parents every now and then - even if he may still live with them at that point in time, he would spend most of his days (and nights) in his office, navigating both his company and all kinds of Chosen Children business. He is so prone to losing himself in work that he probably doesn't realize that it can get a little lonely sometimes. He does love his parents after all, he's very likely to also financially support them in return after having been supported by them all these years. So even if he forgets to check in on them every now and then - they won't forget. And so they will make this work. Always.
