absolutely do not imagine something like a final attack headed at them and China glaring fiercely in the direction of it before embracing Japan against him because in the end he can’t do anything

and murmuring calmy, “it’s all right, I’m here, I’ll protect you”

and them dying together and/or vanishing together as the blast hits

while China shields Japan as best as he can from the impact
