me to all my favorite characters
me, headcanoning all my faves as bisexual: it’s what they deserve
“Bi culture is hating men while still being attracted to them.”
Translation: I guess you’re allowed to like guys, but you’re not allowed to be enthusiastic about it at all otherwise you’re *gasp* a straight! Being resentful about being attracted to one of the genders you like is totally healthy, I promise.
“So you think that a woman being with a man is good bi representation?”
Translation: I’ve apparently forgotten what bisexuality means.
“All m/f relationships are heterosexual regardless of the identities of the people involved”
Translation: I sure do love erasing people’s identities against their will!
Bi culture is having your attraction to men constantly denigrated and then having people turn around and call that “bi positivity” and “bi culture.”
What a beautiful day it is to remember that radical feminism is garbage and that TERFs and radfems need to stay the hell away from this blog! 😘
can u help me explain why being bi in an m/f relationship doesnt make it "straight" or "hetero" and its still a queer relationship? this biphobic lesbian is refusing to listen to me
No problem! Bi people can never be in “straight” or “heterosexual” relationships because bi people are neither straight nor heterosexual! Saying that they can be is biphobic. It’s that simple.
just to add on—the power dynamics in a mf relationship in which one person is bisexual are fundamentally different from the power dynamics in a mf relationship in which both people are straight. for example, bisexuals (both men & women) in mf relationships are waaaaay more likely to be victims of intimate partner violence than straight people in mf relationships. referring to all mf relationships as “straight” is a vast oversimplification, and completely overlooks the numerous challenges faced by bi people in mf relationships because of their sexuality.
Good bi representation is not and never will be about characters being “gay enough” for gay people and lesbians to pretend that they’re not bi. Good bi representation is about having a diverse range of bi characters.
“So you think that a woman being with a man is good bi representation?”
Translation: I’ve apparently forgotten what bisexuality means.
Can you please translate, "Bi people are being way too sensitive about Biphobia!"
translation: stop pointing out my bigotry! that’s way more hurtful than me actually being a bigot!
‘This character can’t be bisexual because [list of reasons that don’t actually disprove anyone being bisexual]’
Translation: I’m biphobic and I really don’t want this character to be bisexual, but unfortunately I can’t think of any good reason besides my bigotry for a reason why. Won’t somebody pity me?
