Card Captor Sakura Clear Card anime news (?)

Ok guys, here’s the thing:

The latest Animedia magazine of December features an interview with character designer Kunihiko Hamada. He was asked several questions (and there are many interesting tidbits) but the most important thing is

and read that twice

that the new Card Captor Sakura Clear Card anime will not be tied to the OAD released in September (that one looks like it’s in “another timeline”), but rather to the old 90′s anime/ second movie, The Sealed Card. In my opinion, the OAD is not “discarded”, it’s probably just a side project following the manga.

Fans on Japanese BBS/Twitter are already discussing about this because it’s not really clear what Hamada meant by that, and mostly, we were ALL convinced that the Sakura and the Two Bears OAD would act as a direct prologue of the new anime. He also adds that, being tied to the previous anime, Episode 1 will contain a “nostalgic scene” and Sakura and Syaoran’s reunion will be slightly different from the one we saw in the OAD. This probably explains why the upcoming The Sealed Card movie re-screening in December is being advertised as “Another story linked to Clear Card”.
