In a sense, Aomi was in the ether when she got snagged by the system but that was in the first stages of the entire facility’s work. The beta test if you will.

So essentially they did not capture a ghost (among other things), they snagged a demon that was on its way into another incarnation. This essence of Aomi they snagged then killed everything in the area except the plant life - Aomi took ‘shelter’ in some hollyhocks. 

Long story short, extraction of the ‘other side’ was complete, Ao was somewhat trapped in the plants - they named that section of the facility HOLLY - since the head of the project that died loved the flowers and her name was Holly.

Ginger came into play when they wanted to pull the demon essence out of the hollyhocks, this batch of experiments was successful, thanks to a woman named Ginger that created the holding area for Aomi to use.  Aomi was pulled from the plants and allowed to manifest in anyway she chose in that containment area and stayed inside of it for a long long long time …until yeah, Ginger would die of old age.

wuuu, shit. haven’t heard that name in a while. basically it was the more futuristic/supernatural aspect of the characters we made back in 1997.  Holly & Ginger was a facility (set in some space-age-uber high tech time period) that researched  the soon to die, the dead, and the brought back.  How to use death as a resource to better living, etc etc.

wrong persons were brought back - shit hit the fan, monsters broke free,  same old shit.  the facility and everybody involved was ‘wiped off the map’ but that kinda shit just doesn’t work.

project holly & ginger… we didn’t do much with it , scene designs, some monster concepts nothing else really.
