Hm, I see what you mean. I think the main problem with your struggle is that you aim for body parts in the first place.Let me elaborate this:
Whatever you need to draw, you need to think of proportions, and anatomy in the first place. In order to learn how to draw bodies, you need to in fact, start drawing bodies. (TA-DAAA)
Draw from life.Like.A LOT.Fast ,really fast sketches.Have a small sketchbook and draw people. Most of these will look like shit (yeeeiii). And then a little less. And less, until you reach to a point where you can be “satisfied” with what you are doing.
Don’t be let down and don’t finish and polish your drawings when you are doing life drawing. You need to capture anatomy, gestures, motion etc(depends what you aim for). It’s a phase that is difficult to stick to, but it rewards you in the end trust me.
And don’t think that when you get more experienced you change it.Basically loose drawings are crucial to start anything. Here the process of a frame from my webcomic (sorry for the gore image).
The first one is not even a drawing for crying out loud:P It just helps me set it up and work it from there. And it’s a close up, so you see no matter how zoomed the image is, the anatomy is there.
I am awful at explaining stuff, so I am not sure whether this helps or not. But whatever you do, keep drawing. And show me your sketches as you go along, I’d love to see your progress.
