I’m still surprised the 2019 one got so many notes back then. It was probably not a lot in retrospect but it was like my first ever drawings that got over 1,000 notes.

Recently @moomshroomsoup and I wrote a short moomin fic where Snorkmaiden learns self-defence by training to be a swordfighter under Moominpappa. It was really fun to write and explore her character development in this way, so I drew a few of my favourite moments!

I love the season 3 finale of Moomin Valley where Little My looks at her reflection (to find her “future spouse” looking back as Snorkmaiden had) and it’s not her spouse looking back, but her friends/family. To me, it says that even though she feels she doesn’t need/want a romantic partner, she’ll still be surrounded by love and support from her friends–old and new.
