Kato’s hell week is literally just being told no. Like the bitch clearly thinks everyone should bend to her will at all times and how dare anyone who thinks otherwise. This is honestly one of the worst characters I’ve ever seen created on a show and it’s because the fact that writers clearly don’t understand that toxic people like this are the villains and don’t deserve anyone’s sympathy. She’s not even the kind of character you love to hate you just hate her.

period. she’s a spoiled fucking brat and i’m over it. the way her privilege has transported her into a parellel universe where she HAS to get her way because she’s white and pretty is ridiculous. what annoys me the most is that she’s the main character. she’s not that racist, privileged white side character we all hate in tv shows, this is a character we are supposed to like and root for, but these writers missed the mark so astronomically that they wrote the most unlikeable racist character to prove a point that we all jUDgE a BoOk By ItS cOvEr, as if a half-assed sob story fixes any of kato’s unredeemable qualities: she’s a racist, toxic, manipulative, bratty girl who has never got any consequences for her actions and throws tantrums when she doesn’t get her way.

idk what wtfock was trying to prove or get from this season , but i’m 100% sure they didn’t get the reaction they wanted because with a character like that as main, who basically was written to have a pretty face for advertisers, the point of this season got completely lost.

Arthur admitted that he fucked up. He asked the girls not to exclude the boys based on his actions. If this ended up him not part of the group, so be it. I can't help but see you think he'll hurt others again. I like to think he'll use this experience to know how NOT to hurt people again. He's learning. He's bound to make mistakes but yeah, I like to think he'll grow up. It'll take time but he will along with others.

Hey, what I meant is that at this moment he should stay single aka not pursue another romantic relationship. I want him to stick with his friends, I guess right now it'll be their decision if they want to hang out with him (mostly the girls but I feel like they'll let it go soon either way). But I think he should stay single for a while, think about all the ways he's hurt Alexia and Noee and learn from his mistakes and don't make them again. I don't know where you see his grow up, to me he's barely making any progress, for every step forward he takes, then he takes five steps back. First he gave a great speech in the cantine to those stupid girls, but then he acted like a complete douchebag to Noee many times. He started taking sign language lessons but we honestly only saw him once there, we haven't had any update, whether it'd be text or insta post about it since then and the only real mention of it was when he was fighting with P*trick and it seemed like he's going there to spite him. What else do you think he learn? That shouldn't cheat because he might hurt everyone and himself in the process? He shouldn't have to learn that, he should already know that. See, the problem with Arthur is that his development practically doesn't exist. Think of Lucas or Emma, the difference between them at the beginning of the season was so clear, you could see by their actions, words, decisions that they learned from past mistakes and you could see from the middle of the season that this development is happening. Arthur seems to even regress, he's back to square one. Both of his speeches yesterday? Great! But where are they coming from? It's like there are two Arthurs in the shoe and you never know if the smart one or the idiot one will show up in the clip. And again, we barely got to know *real* Arthur, the immersion into his pov stopped being a thing after 7 am clips (which were great) and contrary to all the previous mains I still have no idea who Arthur is. He suddenly likes to draw??? Where is this coming from??? I feel like we knew much more about him from those total of 5 minutes or so from s3&4. So yeah. Say whatever you want, maybe I'm seeing the worst in Arthur but that's because I didn't have a real chance to know him.

I feel like regarding Malec, the writers give us what we don't need (I.e. Randomly thrown in makeout sessions/kisses) but not what we actually need & ties in with the story like continuation of the sex scene, Magnus being with Alec right after he pulls him from the ledge... idk how to put it into words but I feel like there are a lot of gaps in the malec storyline and their parts seem to end so abruptly every time. It's like when I expect a soft malec scene after something intense, there's none.

You know, I absolutely agree with you, every single point. As much as I don’t want to be the person who keeps demanding for malec scenes in a show that’s not essentially centered around the two of them, I wish they won’t leave us hanging so much. I mean, yes sure, we get really cute scenes to establish that they’re moving towards a more comfortable relationship. But I really, really want more scenes of them having real talks about what transpired, be it the sex scene, warlock mark scene or the ledge scene, and where they will go from there. You put it perfectly; their scenes feel very truncated, and I totally agree with that last line. It’s like they find a reason to interrupt their exchange every time and it’s frustrating because you’re expecting a resolution but you’re left hanging. It was done exceptionally well in 2x01, and even though it stretched over, 2x03 and 2x04 worked too and 2x06, almost. I really wish they get back into this rhythm and I know 2x08 is gonna be intense and I love intense but yeah, I want them to resolve things properly.

I can't really put my finger on it but most of the episode irked me so much. especially magnus saying he feels vulnerable and alec just going in for the kiss anyway???

i mean there was so much wrong with it it’s not funny but yeah that was a huge part of it

malec got no plot, no driving force or real conversation just snippets that had already been spoiled. there was no progression from one point to another. we didn’t see them go shopping, didn’t see them get onto the balcony. we saw nothing more than a moving version of the stills

also we have magnus saying “i’ll be here” as though he’s just waiting for alec which is shitty, and i mean in general the episode reinforced a lot of tropes that just fucking suck

and then we get to that last scene which could have been soft and lovely, could have been a real discussion about vulnerability, but instead it was just cut off and magnus’s feelings were swept under the rug and not giving magnus any dialogue that agreed going forward and then just fading to black which is fucking bullshit

even if they come in next episode with showing us what happened the way that is framed devalues magnus’s feelings and consent and it’s also disgusting to call an episode “malec mania” and then not give them any plot and give a het couple more intimacy

people are saying we weren’t gonna see sex but like we did see sex and implied intimacy with other couples and malec should have been given the same treatment in one episode without it being framed like that

i see enough of this shit with other mlm couples i wanted to have one thing that was positive and it was treated like garbage by this episode
