Melanistic Barn Owl (I never thought I’d get to see one of these!!)
Walked outside yesterday morning and spotted this little beauty hanging out by the car. Gave me a great defensive display when it saw me: it flipped around, burried its head in the leaves and put its butt in the air, tail curled to form a fake head, and then it struck in my general direction with its tail end. Very cool to watch. And then it scooted off back in to the preserve.
