Do you like to go outside at night and just look up to see beautiful stars? If so, do you go out alone or with friends?
With friends… If we have the time to, we would sneak out at night to watch the stars and just talk…

“we’ll do our best, okay?”
LISTEN, im so hecked rn
I love your Dad Might and Mini Deku AU so much, it brightens my day. I personally headcanon that Toshinori at one time (before his injury) rather liked the idea of being a father one day. I think all the stuff he went through after the injury and probably seeing himself as scary looking kills that dream. So your AU makes everything even more awesome!
This… This is a GREAT headcanon…
Imagine: He wanted to be a hero, he always did. He wanted to stand with the pros, wanted to protect the people, to see everyone safe and happy.
But, quietly - something he never spoke of aloud - he wanted to be a father, too.
Perhaps it was because of his personality. He wasn’t exactly nurturing, but he always tried his best.
Of course, the dream of becoming a top hero and the wish of becoming a father one day never could meld properly in his mind. It was always one or the other - the risks of being the child of a top hero were great, and he couldn’t devote the time needed to raise a child if he was constantly about the city, putting villains behind bars.
(He had also heard rumors about his rival for the spot of first place, Endeavor. He had heard about the man participating in the quirk marriages, knowing that it was another attempt at gaining leverage. He never heard about the child, but he knew enough about the fire-user to know that the child was less a child and more a means to an end in the man’s eyes.
He had no less respect for Endeavor as a hero, but that was not what Toshinori wanted to become. That was not the kind of father he wanted to become; that was not a parent.)
He had still entertained the idea of raising a child once he retired, however. He would undoubtedly be a bit on the older side considering he didn’t have plans for retiring anytime soon, but that didn’t matter to him. He wanted to be able to devote his all to both dreams, so that’s what he had decided to do.
… But then, the fight with the holder of All for One came about. He had won, but came out of the ordeal with a severely shortened life, a handicap on his quirk, and an appearance that made children cry.
He didn’t mind most of it. He could handle a handicap, he doubted that there would be a villain of power to rival All for One’s. But with a shorter life, and the fact that he looked as he did… Well.
So, he gave up one of his dreams. It was alright, it wasn’t something he had become too invested in - he hadn’t exactly experienced what it was like to be an actual father, and he supposed he was fine with the awestruck smiles and cheers from his numerous fans.
(It wasn’t the same, obviously, but it was something that melded easily with his hero dream.)
But then he met Midoriya Izuku. A fanboy, one of many. But he was quirkless, and determined, with the makings of a true hero despite his disadvantage.
His student, his successor, his protege. That’s what Toshinori had had in mind when he told Izuku about his quirk, about the metaphorical torch that could be passed down to him.
A friend, a comrade. Izuku was still his student and successor, but it had changed, they had reached an understanding.
From fanboy and idol, to student and mentor, to mutual friends, comrades. It felt like a blink had passed before the changes had occurred, which was as disorienting as it was pleasant.
And as he watched Midoriya grow even more, adjusting more and more to One for All, forging on through life with an unwavering determination, Toshinori realized that what he felt wasn’t just pride for a student.
It was pride for a son. Pride as a father.
He coughs, blood splattering over his hands, pulling him away from his reminiscing.
He hears shouting, can detect the frantic note in the familiar voice, but his vision is hazy from exhaustion and dust. He can’t even see the rubble and destruction that he knows is there.
His vision clears for a moment as he is jostled, and suddenly watery green eyes enter his vision.
There is more shouting, but it is muted, as though he has been submerged in water. Memories superimpose on the boy hovering in his vision, memories of a precious moment in time.
”Your father?” He asked, blinking.
Midoriya shrugged, noncommittal. “Yeah. I don’t even remember what he looked like, so it’s pretty safe to say that I didn’t really have someone to emulate at a younger age.”
A sheepish look entered the boy’s expression, his gaze darting away. “Well, I always looked up to you, not that you didn’t already know that. I just didn’t think that I’d ever, well, actually be trained by you. So, um, thankyouverymuchforbeinglikeafathertome.”
Toshinori had only laughed at the time, giving Midoriya a thumbs up before they departed for class.
Now, he reaches up at the familiar mop of dark hair, smiling despite the pain lancing through his body and the blood spilling from his lips.
“You did a good job, Midoriya-boy,” he rasps as he ruffles the boy’s hair. The boy flinches, grasping his hand and shouting more, but his words don’t reach him.
Toshinori takes a shuddering breath, and he speaks his last.
“Thank you for being my son.”
Sorry I kind of hi-jacked your headcanon. Sorry I added that unnecessary angst at the end but hey I’m not the one who put that foreshadowing in chapter 59 This ended up becoming canon-oriented (as in, with the canon events/14-15-year-old-Izuku as opposed to the Dad Might & Mini Deku AU) which I am completely fine with because I now headcanon this too. What do you mean Toshinori never wanted to become a father in canon what
