currently obsessed: summer in the city
it is so easy to focus on our short-comings and flaws. we all have things we can learn from and improve on. but know that you are enough as you are. take a deep breath. be a little kinder to yourself. you got this x
have been looking into the one publishing degree available in new zealand... considering applying for next year....
bookstores open up again for the first time since we went into lockdown in august. had to go and pick up some new reads. i’ve missed browsing the little indie bookstores in my city :,)
Anything to share about writing your first resume? Been procrastinating mine for some 2 months because i have 0 experience besides some non commercial art freelancing
my first ever resume i just found a template online and filled in the gaps which some people scoff at but it is a great place to start! it is definitely hard when you don't have a lot of experience, i only have experience working in cafes/hospitality but listing what you've studied is also really great, any extra-curriculars you do can say a lot about your drive/commitment/social and communication skills, and don't forget to add what your computer/technology skills are! if you use social media, if you know how to use microsoft word/excel etc, any software you've used (for example i know how to use premiere pro, which is adobe software) - any skill you have is worth mentioning!
and just in general format it so it's easy to read and spot what is important!
it’s 7:23pm. the sun hasn’t set yet. i just opened our window and even though we live in the city center i can hear birds chirping over the rush of cars and hum of generators. i breathe in and can smell the fresh flowers of summer. the light is soft and the air is sweet.
