Robyn - rare enough to be the only one in school through the 90s, gender neutral enough for me to swing through the genders , popular enough now that I can sometimes get my name on things in big places. A bird that people think are dead people saying hiya.
My name means "of darkness". I dig it. 🖤
it's fine, but i don't always vibe with it sometimes and there is no real nickname to fall back on.
also it's common enough in my age cohort that everyone knows at least one other person with my name, and she is invariably a Giant Bitch.
My parents decided to name me Jennifer. So did every other parents of baby girls between, like, 1970 and 1982. Ten percent of my graduating class was named Jennifer.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, my last name is relatively rare, and people complicate pronouncing and spelling it far more than they need to.
