Source is an absolutely stunning, 50-panel comic about what is honestly a not terribly unlikely ending scenario at this point in the manga and yes, it is every bit as heartbreaking as you think it’s going to be. It’s fantastically drawn, beautifully laid-out, and, honest to dog, it made me cry. I’m the type of person who never cries when reading fanworks but this fucking comic is the first and so far only fanwork I’ve ever read that made me tear up. Because it’s not solely about character death - if it were just that, then I would have just rolled my eyes at it - it’s about broken, damaged people needing to cling to whatever bits of warmth and hope they had (or once had) in the world, Eren included, and if that doesn’t just cut straight to the thematic heart of Attack on Titan’s actual canon then I don’t know what does.

2nd 4coma: I replaced the word ‘hoihoi’ with ‘RAID’ because in Japan hoihoi refers to cockroach repellants/killers. I just googled ‘cockroach killer’ and RAID was the first brand that came up so that was what I used. No copyright infringement intended!
