ANIVI

This is one of my favourite pieces and it was an absolute delight to work on. It was a commission by a wonderful DM of their party bracing themselves for an ambush in a dense forest. It was so much fun to work on. I wanted to give off the feeling of the party being watched through the brush and I got to play around with lighting and magical effects. It was also a heap of fun getting to know the characters. As you know, I love putting in those little details that call back to older points in the campaign, or getting to design a character's special gear or show off their magic. I just love the idea of someone getting to see their character and going, "Yeah, that's MY guy. That's the sword he was given for saving that orphanage, that's the pink boa he nicked off that tradesman."

May I introduce you to Lamordan! He's a court mage. A diplomat in title, but a scientist at heart. He lives a comfortable life in service to his small kingdom, making advances that better the lives of its citizens. (He's particularly proud of the magic lamps that light the streets each night.) He's a gentle and patient man, happiest in the lab with the company of his familiar Cyamu.

If you've been following me on other socials, you've probably seen him already. I'm learning Blender and Lamordan is my muse. I designed Lamordan last year following some design prompts from my partner. It was supposed to be a quick study, but boy am I attached. There's a lot more I'd like to flesh out about his character, so I hope you don't get tired of him! 🍂 How has everybody been? I know I've been away for a while. I messed up big time and injured my drawing arm. I'll spare you the details. It was a bad time but I learned important lessons and honestly, I feel better than ever. I was forced to slow down and change gears. The projects I was working on have been shelved, it's just all too strenuous at the minute. But that all allowed me to reasses. I learned about pixel art and 3D modelling, I learned about making games. It was honestly a little magical how I've been getting excited about art making again. Slowing down has allowed me to reconnect with my art and work on things that are much more meaningful. I'm also feeling much better in my own body. Part of recovery was a lot of mindfulness about how I'm treating this flesh vessel. And honestly... As much as I hated it at first (and boy did I hate it), the exercise feels good. But yeah, that's what's been up with me! I still have to be really careful and mindful of said arm. I've had a few tiny relapses where I just wasn't self-aware enough to recognize strain. But all that being said, I'm excited! Expect... different, I guess? I'm really enoying playing in 3D space and my mind is just bursting with ideas for how I can incorporate that into my art. Oh! and I've got some more old art I've been sitting on too, so I'll drop them here as I get to it. I'm off to end the day with an ice pack and a long rest. See you all around!

Arie Fuche was a sailor. That is, until he was stabbed in the back by a friend. Mysteriously resurrected alongside this new crew, Arie has found a shard of crystal embedded in his chest that seems to grant him vicious elemental power and a connection to the primordial lord of water... The Leviathan.

You can see him in the new token borders I designed for tabletop! I really like the use of the wooden frames because it feels like something that would exist in-world.

Balgrüf is a bounty hunter on a quest for vengeance— but circumstances have landed him adventuring with this unlikely party. Perhaps this unlikely crew is just what he needs to learn to trust again?

He was given this weapon after saving a trio of dragon wyrmlings. This axe is imbued with a small fraction of a gold dragon's power; the perfect gift for the dwarf whose honour is paramount.

Every party needs a moral compass. This is Brann Lysmann, a light cleric of Azzanon. Orphaned by disease as a child, a local priest took him in. In his care, Brann grew to be a wise and compassionate acolyte.

Brann wields the Mace of Disruption. It was meant to look simple, old, and battle-worn, much like Brann himself. It bears the mark of Azzanon, god of the sun.

This is Vaal-Mir. Little is known about this mysterious servant of the Red King. His past is as inscrutable as the dark powers he wields.

He carries a Rod of the Pact Keeper, embellished it with the symbol of Asmodeus, whom he serves.

Lorelei is the last member of my buddy’s party of badasses and her sword was the most challenging but satisfying to design.

Isn't he just the most intimidating thing you ever did see? I mean he wears the pelt of a hellhound. A hellhound AND a chimera. Oh yeah, and his sail glow blue when he rages.

Up next, we have Balgrüf, the heaviest of stares and the heaviest of pasts.

Every party needs a moral compass. Here's the next member of the party, Brann Lysmann. The wholesome face this party needs.

Vaal-Mir, servant of Asmodeus. First in a line of character commissions done for my buddy of his really, really intense D&D party.

This pocket full of sunshine is Eilvyre Silverkin, or Vy! She's a tiny, earnest cleric ready for the adventuring life. She's actually an NPC in a campaign my friend ran! She's part of a party of three NPCs that stole the show, and our hearts. I wanna draw the two boys soon. I love all these dorks and I'm pleased to bits they're being written into a new campaign.

I had the great opportunity to illustrate this moment in my client's Out of the Abyss campaign, where the party finally gets a chance to catch their breath and forget the chaos around them.

Totally thought I lost this!!! Funny little scene from my introductory game where we fought this drunk (and on-fire ogre) but couldn't land a hit because he kept drunk swaying away from our blows like an old cartoon. (We kept rolling fives.)

This went of for so long until Kavat, the Tabaxi, got fed up and tossed a knife at the ogre. Great roll! Hit him between the eyes. It was perfect.
