This lucky hen has found her forever home...and opened up a spot for one of the 2,000 hens about to be liberated from cages in July! Adopters save lives - if you live in California, apply to adopt today!

Happy for #hens! Saving lives is made possible by our heroic adopters and volunteers. If we want to save 2,000 lives in July, we need our mild-mannered superheroes to don their capes and fly to the next adoption event (after pre-approval, of course) to adopt some hens!
We have adoption events coming up in Los Gatos, Fresno, Grass Valley, and Sonoma! Tag your #chicken loving friends and invite them to apply to adopt!
Spread love, not violence, to animals like Gwen and Annie. Switch to a vegan lifestyle.
Cypress cleaning Oak. You can extend to them and all other animals just as much love as they have for each other by leaving them off your plate and out of your wardrobe. #lovethemdonteatthem #liberationislove
The chickens put themselves to bed on their perches every night, and it is quite possibly one of the most heartwarming sights.

Killing one animal to save another? Rescues and environmental groups are going vegan!
Thanks Barefoot Vegan Magazine for covering our Food for Thought campaign!
These hens have special needs as well as a special place in all of our hearts at Animal Place. Caregiver Roni makes sure that Mayzie (back) and Latisha (front) know they are deeply loved. Photo by @veganroni #FridaysFromTheField
Pictured are Ross and Lazy sharing a moment. These empathetic, self-aware, inquisitive, and intelligent animals deserve only our love and respect. May we each expand our own empathy for these defenseless animals and choose to refrain from contributing to their needless deaths by leaving eggs and meat off our plates.
Come see our own education director Marji Beach speak at the Farmed Animal Conference on the emotions and intelligence of farmed animals as well as social media and outreach strategies for your growing animal rights organization!

Animal Place’s Rescue Ranch manager, Jan, wants you to meet Monkey and Spunky. She says, “Every night when we close their barn, we find them sitting in their plum tree. It's a far cry from the battery cages we rescued them from just one short month ago! We love Spunky and Monkey (and all their 1,300 sisters)."

When you walk over to say hi and get distracted by your legs. And then your friend copies you.
Shelby came to Animal Place 40-pounds underweight. She had a feces coated rear and needed medical attention and love. She likely escaped a transport truck or dairy farm.
Today, Shelby is healthy, happy, and playful. She shares a pasture with her BFF, Magnolia, and loves to run!
Thanks to donations from people like you, we can ensure that Shelby lives out a natural life full of love, and we can continue to help others like her. http://bit.ly/DonateAP
