A big thank you to all that attended our first Brave the Cage Challenge, especially our volunteers! Friday’s event was a success with three media stations covering the exhibition and around 100 visitors! The challenge highlighted the egregious conditions hens on egg farms are confined to for their short lives. Those who braved the cage took the Egg-Free Pledge, , enjoyed delicious vegan food samples, and received information regarding the egg industry. All in all, we had many folks walk away making the connection and pledging to make a difference in their daily lives!
Our next Brave the Cage challenge will take place next Saturday, March 28 from 12 - 3 at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater in Oakland, CA. If you’re in the Bay Area next week, make sure to stop by and BRAVE THE CAGE!

Ingredients:
5-6 strawberries, frozen or fresh
1.5 cup mangoes, frozen or fresh (about 2 medium yellow mangoes)
1/2 cup coconut milk, from the can (make sure to shake well before opening the can)
up to 1/2 cup water
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Feel free to play with the ratios here. As a tip, I recommend using one of the fruit ingredients frozen only and using the other one fresh.
