Awesome farmed animal sanctuary home to 300 formerly neglected and abused cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits and turkeys in Grass Valley, CA. Perfect place to visit, volunteer, and intern!

Great to see NPR cover animal rights once again!

We are excited for the progress that will be made as more people awaken to the truth that other living beings are here with us, not for us.

"We're really seeing a rising tide of consciousness when it comes to the treatment of animals." … “The question is what that will mean next for agriculture, entertainment, research, and other fields in which animals play a role.”

These are unhealthy ducks. They are dull looking with what appears to be some type of respiratory infection.

This chicken has a case of untreated and severe leg mites. It is inexpensive to treat this condition.

The yard for a couple of pigs. Notice the amount of feces - this requires weeks of not cleaning. Pigs are clean animals - this is not an appropriate outdoor area for a pig.

No water, food discarded on the ground.

This is the “yard” for a pig. It's caked feces and mud. Water is disgusting and unclean.

Goats with overgrown hooves that have not received proper treatment/care.

Please sign and reblog to demand that the RSPCA (England & Wales) and the South Bucks District Council investigate the Dorney Animal Sanctuary (a.k.a. The Animal Sanctuary UK) for improper care of the rescued animals at their facility.

These precious souls deserve a true sanctuary where their housing is free of mud and feces, they are provided appropriate space, vet care, food, and water, and where they can thrive.

Sanctuaries are safe havens. These pictures depict egregious conditions that should have been rectified immediately and indicate a prolonged lack of proper care.

For two years, these hens have desperately wanted to dust-bathe and sun-bathe. During those years, they were thwarted by human greed and wire metal cages. Now liberated, they do not need to re-learn so much as re-connect to what it means to be a chicken.

These hens suffered deprived lives because of the egg industry. To help them, go vegan.
