Yuki is one of our many rabbits rescued from a research laboratory. An easy way to stop contributing to the suffering of animals subjected to skin and eye irritation tests, force-feeding, and lethal-dose tests is by making the switch to cruelty-free cosmetics.
It’s about time that hospitals stop providing their patients with foods that promote and cause the very diseases that sent them to the hospital in the first place. Moving away from processed meats and embracing more plant-based whole foods are a good step towards reversing ill health.
The power to create a more compassionate and just world lies within each of us. Act on it, altering your daily choices to treat Bob (pictured) and all other animals with respect and nonviolence. Go vegan.
This 4th of July we are celebrating the freedom of Zelda and 1,999 liberated “spent” hens… Freedom from confinement, constant suffering, commodification, exploitation, and death sentences. Help us help all the hens we sadly are unable to save by refusing to support the violence inherent to the egg industry and ditching eggs.
Sheep like Gigi, each with unique personalities, endure immense cruelty for you to wear wool. Wear animal-friendly fabrics instead.
Great coverage of this thought-provoking new film that explores animal rights. On Netflix now!
Every industry that exploits and commodifies nonhuman animals is violent and ultimately leads to the animals being killed.
Go vegan.
We have no right to the skin of any animal. Stop wearing and using leather and other animals’ skins.
6% of the US population is vegan, up from 1% just three years ago! While a lot of work remains before we will achieve animal liberation, veganism is most definitely the future--for the sake of the planet and all of its inhabitants.
Meet Wilbur the pig--the namesake of the Guest House’s Wilbur room! Wilbur was brought to Animal Place from a horse “rescue” that was no longer able to care for their animal residents. He loves apples, sweet potatoes, and pineapples. Come give him some treats during your stay at the Guest House! https://animalplace.checkfront.com/reserve/
We need volunteers to help with declumping the hens whom we are rescuing on July 3rd! Because these hens have been so cramped in battery cages their entire lives, it will take them a little while to learn that they can finally enjoy their own personal space. Therefore, these hens will need compassionate humans to help them learn to no longer sleep in clumps on top of one another. Sign up at henrescuers.org/volunteer
In a few days, we will be rescuing 2,000 hens from battery cages, where they have spent 1.5 years confined to a space smaller than a sheet of paper. For the first time in their lives, these individuals will experience freedom to spread their wings, nest, dust bathe, perch, and choose their friends. In your own life, you can help work towards the liberation of hens and all animals by going vegan.
The rabbits at Animal Place come from a variety of backgrounds including research labs, sale as meat rabbits, and a schoolyard in which released class pets overpopulated and would have been shot without intervention. You can help end the abuse of these gentle individuals by leaving rabbits off your plate, out of your closet, and by purchasing only cruelty-free cosmetics.
Looking to open your home to a rabbit? Be fully aware of the time and space commitment, and always #adoptdontshop, as rabbits are commonly abandoned.
This former dairy farmer transitioned to veganic farming and ensured the cows in his care went to a sanctuary to live out their lives! He admits, “Cows are conscious of what goes on around them -- they have personalities and an inner life. They’re not just units of food.”
2,000 hens will experience freedom for the first time next week during our #libertyforzelda rescue!
If you live in California, help us by applying to adopt hens, volunteering, or donating!
