Day 1598, 7 November 2022
Three years of An Every Day Thing
Wow! An Every Day Thing has actually been going for 3 years.
The challenge for its 4th year is to make it more interesting by spreading its wings further afield. Too much of the last 15 months or so has inevitably been spent too locally.
Remember too that you can see more daily photographs at More Every Day Things. Simply search for the number of a day and, if it all works correctly, you will find not only more photos from the relevant day but also other added bonuses such as some explanation about and even some stories behind the photographs.
Also I publish themed photographs on my other Tumblrs, for example:
Sometimes London which showcases the London which visitors like;
London Edge for the more authentic and gritty London;
My Cornish Place for Cornwall;
Postcards from Spike Island for general travel (not much these days);
My Monochrome Place for a world in black and white;
Sports Spectator for sport from a spectator perspective (even less these days); and
English Shops for well…English shops
Day 1028, 16 April 2021
Day 1000 or day 1002?
A landmark achieved! Not sure if I should be celebrating day 1000 or day 1002.
The original challenge was to observe something new every day and take a photograph of it. Unfortunately I managed to miss a couple of days so, as I’m some distance from 1000 consecutive days, maybe neither day is a landmark.
One of the most enjoyable aspects has been the challenge to observe something new, particularly over the last 12 months when most of the photographs have had to be taken within walking distance of home, often over a quick 10 minute or so lunch time stroll. That said, the day 1000 scene has been photographed a few times over the challenge because it is a view from my terrace. However, as the sky is always changing, I am counting it each time as something new! For that reason, the photograph is, therefore, the ideal scene with which to bring up day 1000.
Looking forward to continuing the challenge for the next 1000 days.
