For all the main TVDU ships, what ship do you think they’re most similar to in another movie/show?
I couldn’t think of a better way to word that, so I have no idea if that makes any sense. An example would be darvey in suits = chenford in the rookie
This was kind of hard to think of, but I did my best.
Haylijah and Deckerstar (Lucifer)
I think this one goes without saying. Lucifer and Elijah have a lot of similar characteristics. They both are deeply problematic and do terrible things, but they don't want to be that person. While Hayley and Chloe are both intelligent, badass women who don't deal with other's bs. In both these ships, we have men who are used to getting what they want being challenged and they love it. I could definitely see Deckerstar being a AU of Haylijah.
Freelin and Kanej (Shadow and Bones)
Both these ships start out fairly problematic. Freya kidnaps and holds Keelin against her will, while Kaz essentially has to buy Inej and treats their relationship as nothing more than a contract. Both Kaz and Freya, because of their past trauma, are unable to allow themselves to truly be with the other, forcing Inej and Keelin to essentially give them an ultimatum. Both ships need each other despite how independent Kaz and Freya pretend to be.
Marbekah and Clace (Shadowhunters)
Not only do both ships have weird incestual undertones, but they both go through their ups and downs due to familial alliances. Jace and Rebekah for a while both struggled to find their footing in their romantic lives with their family (Klaus and Valentine) manipulating them away. They both have to learn to choose themselves and their loves over their family. It doesn't help that both of these ships' families are so entwined that it's hard to separate their relationships from their family drama.
Klamille and Clexa (The 100)
Both Klaus and Lexa both viewed themselves as rulers who thought love was a weakness. They were ready to go to war and kill anyone who stood in their way until a smart, blonde entered their lives. Cami and Clark are both from different worlds, Clark was from the "Sky People" and Cami the humans. Clark and Cami convince their significant others to see humanity in their people.
Kolvina and Supercorp (Supergirl)
Both ships meet with one of the partners concealing their true identity. Kol was hiding who he was to get close to Davina, while Kara was hiding that she was Supergirl to protect her identity. Despite Davina and Lena being hurt by the betrayal, they grow to understand it and still care for the other. While Kara and Kol both have the advantage of strength, Lena and Davina don't mess around when it comes to being protective. They may not have the physical strength, but it doesn't stop them from using their talents.
Jaiden and Malec (Shadowhunters)
Both ships started out as star-crossed lovers, Alec was sworn to fight demons like Magnus, while Aiden was taught not to trust vampires like Josh. Despite this, they have one of the purest ships in both shows. Them standing up for their love, despite people not fully accepting it, helps bridge the gaps between the factions.
Stelena and Bangel (Buffy)
You'll never convince me that Stelena wasn't based off of Bangel. Even how Stefan sees Elena and "just has to know her" is similar to Angel following Buffy to Sunnydale in order to protect her. Both Angel and Stefan battle their inner demons. They become monsters when they give into vampirism, but they are "cursed" with a soul that torments them. Elena takes on some Buffy characteristics when she begins to learn to fight vampires, but really it is her compassion and ability to see Stefan through his vampirism that makes them most similar.
Delena and Darklina (Shadow and Bones)
Of course, both these ships are enemies-to-lovers. Similar to Damon and Elena, the Darkling is the first person to make Alina feel seen with her powers. Or at least he makes her believe that, very much like Delena. The Darkling becomes a mentor to Alina, making her feel that he is the only one who can guide her, just as Damon, because of the sirebond, is the only one who can guide Elena through her transition. Both ships don't necessarily bring out the best in each other, rather they fall into the darkness together.
Bonenzo and Peraltiago (Brooklyn 99)
While these two shows are completely different genres, these two ships remind me of each other. You have the sensible, intelligent, badass woman who is used to having to take care of everything on her own and the goofy, charming, but intelligent man who will do everything for the woman they love. Enzo and Jake teach Bonnie and Amy that they don't need to be so independent. We get to see them finally be able to rely on someone in their life and it allows them to relax. They truly bring out such good sides of each other.
Steroline and Olicity (Arrow)
These ships are both friends-to-lovers, or more accurately, partners-in-crime-to-lovers. Both were incredibly slow, slow-burns that seemed to not be a possibility early in because of the canon source material. But they were each other's best friends. They trusted each other more than anyone. Oliver and Stefan struggled with their own darkness and Felicity and Caroline pulled them back.
Parkwood and Percabeth (Percy Jackson)
While Percy Jackson is still in the early seasons, if you've read the books, you know where it is headed. Parkwood even looks like the book version of Percabeth. But it's not just the looks. Liv is similar to Annabeth in the way she doesn't trust Percy at first. Percy has to prove himself to her. But once he does, Annabeth would never let anything happen to him. Liv is the same way with Tyler. The start was rough, but once she is loyal, that's it. Tyler, like Percy doesn't always come off like the most intelligent person, but he really is. He is loyal and brave and would do anything for those he loves. The ships are both based in trust and friendship.
Thanks for the ask! Let me know if I missed any ships <3
