I just read your fic “The Abyss (Gazes Into You)” and I was curious about if you were willing to reveal if that’s the Nogitsune speaking at the very end or not? I absolutely loved this fic, it’s so interesting

thank you so so much!! i'm so glad you loved this fic!!

i went back and reread the fic after reading this message, which was fun for me because it's been almost a decade since i posted it?? which is so wild!! but after rereading it, i can tell you: it's the Nogitsune fighting to come back out, yeah. i left it ambiguous because i think Stiles is still fighting in there, and it's not over, but it's not fully Stiles who's responding at the end of that story.

thank you so much for still loving this story! i'm so glad it's still getting love and attention after all this time, i'm so grateful! i hope my answer is satisfying for you!!

Hey! I'm sorry if this is weird, but I wanted to ask-do you ever get comments on your fics that are super personal, and if you do how do you handle them? I've started getting comments that I don't know how to respond to and I would love advice if you have any :)

don't apologize! i love weird!

i do get super personal comments on my fics sometimes, and usually it'll depend on their subject matter to dictate my response. i respond better to some things than others, and something like trauma dumping in the comments is always going to have me turned off and usually i won't reply at all because i really just don't know what to say. sometimes people share something very intimate and personal that i connect with, and if i have something genuine to say, i'll say it; sometimes, someone shares something personal, but i really don't know what to say in response, so i'll thank them for sharing!!

those are really my big three: respond genuinely if i have a response; thank them for sharing if i don't have a response; do not respond at all if it's too much for me.

also remember, if someone wants to comment, they can, but you have no obligation to reply! i'm a chronic comment replier so i understand if you don't want to leave them unanswered, but also, it's valid to not comment back if you don't have anything to say in response! and that's totally okay!

sorry this is such a long-winded answer! i hope it helped! and i hope you make some wonderful connections when the opportunity arises, and take care of yourself if someone goes too far!!

hey kids who read fic, listen up

it’s annoying to me as a Fanfic Elder that y’all don’t understand how consent works in regards to reading fanfic

last night I saw a fic that had EIGHT of my favorite tags included and a great summary BUT it also contained a tag for a topic that bothers me. I weighed the pros/cons and decided NOT to read the fic because the ONE tag I disliked was something that could trigger a panic attack if the scene went into any sort of detail - it wasn’t worth risking the eight good tags.

from the first moment I noticed the fic to the moment I decided not to read it, the entire experience was MY RESPONSIBILITY. the author tagged the fic correctly, I knew what my limits were, and I respected them.

if you find a fic with tags you don’t like, JUST DON’T READ IT

don’t harass the author, don’t post a big whiny rant about it on Tumblr, just keep scrolling

that is your job as a reader.

louder for the people in the back
