Hello Neil.

My friends and I (11th grade) recently read your short story “Other People” in English class. The class is locked is currently locked in debate as to whether the demon and the man are the same person, and whether the man who comes in at the end is the same as the man at the beginning. Please resolve this debate as we are on the verge of killing each other.

Thanks you!

I love that literature still has power to make people think and feel and care in this day and age.

Dude, you didn't answer their question.

You are a wonderful writer and I understand how you're relieved in a way but they asked you to resolve this heated debate...and you didn't.

Have a great day.

That's right, I didn't. One way they get to read the text closely and argue and think and have to convince each other. One way they don't because they already have an answer.

I'm good with the choice I made.

From Neil Gaiman’s Conversation with Michael Chabon 2015:

In the years that followed, we would have the kind of conversations where Terry would say to me things like, “So I’m done with the Discworld and now I’m going to do this big science fiction series, I’ve come up with it, and this is the plot of the science fiction series.”, and would tell me all about it and get to the end, and I’d say, “Well, that’s all very well, but you should do a book about Death.” And then a week later my phone would ring and I’d pick it up, and a voice would say, “You bastard, it’s called Mort.” and he’d put the phone down.

Watching Hocus Pocus made me think because Aziraphale and Crowley were obviously alive in the 1600s and so on would they even know about the Sanderson Sisters or at least have seen what they have done through the centuries? 🤔 thinking what their take would be on them. Lol 😂🕯😈😇

And that was why God created fanfiction.

Are you for real.

If yes , why don't you get this account verified

Are you looking for some kind of blue check mark that Tumblr doesn't have? Or would you like some other kind of verification symbol that Tumblr doesn't have. Let me know which kind of verification method that Tumblr doesn't have you're hoping to see, and I'll explain to you why I don't have the particular kind of verification that Tumblr doesn't have that you're looking for.

So, do you think the Queen is still alive? I heard she hasn't been seen in public since October.

Avatar

She was seen in public on November 18th, on Dec 16th, and she did the Christmas broadcast. Also, she stripped the Duke of York of his "military affiliations and royal patronages" (you think anyone else gets to do that?).

She's 95. When she dies, you'll know. Everyone will know. And Charles will be King, and the postage stamps and coins in the UK will be all wrong.

If she was dead, she got better.

Now I believe she's dead, yes.

“There’s a tale in the Kabbalah that suggests that the Angel of Death is so beautiful that on finally seeing it (or him, or her) you fall in love so hard, so fast, that your soul is pulled out through your eyes. I like that story.
There’s an Islamic story that declares that the Angel of Death has huge wings covered in eyes, and that as each mortal dies one of its eyes closes, just for a moment. I like that story too, and take pleasure in imagining huge wings, and a ripple of ever-opening, ever-closing beautiful eyes. And there’s a touch of wish fulfillment in there too. I didn’t want a Death who agonized over her role, or who took a grim delight in her job, or who didn’t care. I wanted a Death that I’d like to meet, in the end. Someone who would care. Like her.” Neil Gaiman
