Akashi meeting Yukimura Seiichi from Prince of Tennis? (They're quite similar in some ways, and lets pretend they're both from high school ^^)

AKASHI was the kind of guy who was focused on his Rakuzan basketball team, and focused on little else. He wasn’t even really aware of Rakuzan’s tennis team, but apparently they were very good. It was actually Hayama who convinced him to go.

“I almost got into tennis instead of basketball, y’know?” He tells his captain, who was quite annoyed after the blond continuously begged him to go see a match coming up. He finally relents and accompanies Hayama to Rakuzan’s next tennis match.

Akashi didn’t hear about who the opponents were going to be. ‘Rikkaidai…’ He had read the name of their uniforms as they walked in, without thinking much. However, one of them, with mid-length blue hair had an aura about him that immediately caught Akashi’s attention. He knew from the beginning that had to be their captain.

This captain had put on quite the show for the spectators today. Hayama, who originally came for Rakuzan, was now a huge fan of the Rikkaidai player. The way this guy completely shut down his Rakuzan opponent, rendering him unable to move… it was terrifying. It reminded Hayama of someone else.

This someone else was now suddenly very interested in tennis. Akashi watched enough of this sport to know just how dominant the captain was. His abilities were truly something to admire.

A girl beside him had shouted out his name loudly: “Yukimura-kun!” And that’s how Akashi first learns of his identity.

The match had been a rout, with Rikkaidai coming out on top. Akashi excuses himself from Hayama and marches down to where the opponent team were. When they sensed Akashi approaching, they were immediately on guard. Some of the Rikkaidai members were taller and more muscular than Akashi, but the red-haired boy wasn’t intimidated at all. He looked straight at Yukimura and spoke to him.

“Hello, I don’t think we’ve been introduced, Yukimura-san.” He says calmly. “I’m Akashi Seijurou, the captain of Rakuzan basketball club.”

Yukimura looks amused. “I know.” He replies, surprising Akashi quite a lot. “See, some of us don’t live in a bubble. We hear things from the sports world.” There was something about the way he said this that got on Akashi’s nerves. He didn’t let it show, though. Akashi stands a little taller, before crossing his arms.

“My apologies for not knowing of your tennis prowess earlier.” He says, almost teasingly. “It was quite embarrassing the beatdown you gave our team earlier. Perhaps I should join the tennis team as well and ensure it doesn’t happen again.” At this, Akashi bares his teeth, smiling menacingly.

Some Rikkaidai members scoffed or looked outright offended, but Yukimura isn’t phased at all. He responds with his own signature spine-chilling smile, and offers a hand for Akashi to shake.

“I’m sure that would be quite interesting. I look forward to it.”
