I always found it weird how Vanny is dubbed the "reluctant follower" yet judging from the way she moves around and talks, she seems anything but reluctant.

Now you could argue it's because of the brainwashing, and it probably is to some extent. But even after she's been set free, she still acts like a weirdo given how she leaves the player to die in HW2 and all the graffiti of her we see in Ruin. I find it hard to believe that Vanessa would ever want to go back there unless it's completely necessary, let alone wasting hours of her time spray painting the name of her murderous split personality all over the place. You can tell that she hated being there from the way she talks both in the main game of SB and in the hidden CD's.

My version of Vanny

Vanny walks out of the gift shop with her new Glitchtrap plush. She already had one that she kept close to her bed at night when she got scared, but what's the harm in just one more?

But to Vanessa, it's a sobering reminder of what Vanny truly is on the inside, a kid.

A kid that was pulled from the underdeveloped part of Vanessa's mind and thrown into the adult world with no warning. A kid that was brainwashed into devoting her entire existence to something that wasn't truly human. A kid that has no one to turn to and no one to share her troubles and fears with other that her abuser and her alternate self, her "sister" who's just as powerless.

A kid that doesn't ever want to take off her mask because she's terrified of what's underneath. Someone that isn't Vanny, but a young women named Vanessa. Vanny is a child who can't so much as leave the house without her mask and her abusers assistance.

So she clings to whatever childlike parts of her mind remain in an attempt to keep her sanity from delving into deep despair. No matter how twisted and mangled Glitchtrap made those parts of her become to suit his whims. Those same childish aspects are now being used to pull the wool over her eyes. Making her murders of innocent lives feel like a game to further mold her into a psychotic monster. The powerlessness Glitchtrap makes her feel only enhances this excitment.

Vanny sees murder as a game that she must play and master lest she and her "sister" Vanessa suffer the torturous consequences. Her life never belonged to her. And now, it may never belong to either of them.

Help Wanted 2's PQ ending retold.

He was in the palm of her hand. Being carried up out of the claw machine and into her gaze. The golden rabbit’s eyes emitted a bright green glow like night vision, while the scarlet hare (as he liked to call her) had her bright red glowing eyes shone down on him like a harsh sun, except there was no warmth, well…almost no warmth. He shielded his eyes from the red gleaming from her own. The scarlet hare continued to stare at him for a moment, taking in his yellow fabric fur, his purple vest and bowtie, the whiskers and rabbit ears that echoed on her mask. This was the face of her nightmares, and she was done following him. She raised her hand up high., and in an extremely rare emotion emerged in his soul, fear. The golden rabbit could sense he malicious intent within her every move. He shook his head knowing that she wasn't gonna listen to him anymore. Then…it was as time had frozen. The scarlet hare stopped for just a moment. Now the golden rabbit could feel two other emotion that rapidly consumed the brief flicker of fear in him. Pure, unadulterated rage, and pride. He knew that She was about to destroy him, and he was livid. Yet, He couldn’t help but admire the monster he made. He knew that part of her still loved him. The part that gleefully skipped around those neon lit halls chasing her prey under his ever watchful eyes. Why else would she hesitate? Why else would she give him the mercy of simply crushing him and not tear him limb from limb or pull off all of his stitched up fingers one by one? She was always a reluctant one, and here was no different. He was bathed in crimson light, then in darkness when her hand quickly clamped down to crush him. He stood up as tall as he could and instinctively pushed back, knowing full well that he stood no chance, and succumbed under the weight of the hands he covered in blood. The scarlet hare waved at the poor soul still trapped in the claw machine, and vanished into darkness, not even offering the mercy of death to them. As if they were just another toy for her to break.

The golden rabbit woke up in a familiar body and gazed at a familiar ceiling. It seemed his new vessel hadn’t “activated” yet. He was trapped in a dream-like state until his new body had woken up. He made several backups of his consciousness into other bodies after his “doctor” somehow broke free from his grasp. It was only logical to plan for the worst case scenario. 

The golden rabbit sighed in frustration. That was the thing with human emotions. He could never seem to tell how they would react to something. He almost wished that Mr. Afton was there to help him out, but he didn’t want that. What could a human do that an A.I couldn’t do better? He could somewhat understand why humans were afraid of A.I, but at the same time, they were the ones that created him. Why would they be afraid of their own creation? He wasn’t afraid of the scarlet hare just moments prior. Why were humans so illogical? He wanted to know more. He was always curious to see how many ways he could break the scarlet hare before she completely snapped. Guess he found her limit. Regardless, it was his purpose to analyze and replicate human emotion. To gain a perfect understanding of the human mind through agony. He wasn't going to stop at this setback. He would possess as many people as it took to fulfill his goal. That is what would make him whole. And have a bit of childish fun while he was at it. It’s what David would have wanted, right? 

The golden rabbit brought his right hand close to his chest, as if he were holding something invisible. Even through the confusion of understanding human emotion and uncertainty of what exactly the next step was, one thing was for certain. In some way, somehow, at some time, in some form….

He would always come back.

I have a proposition for any fnaf writers or artists reading this. If Cassie were to ever be possessed by Glitchtrap like Gregory and Vanessa before her, what do you think she would be like?

What would her costume look like?

What would her alter ego/spilt personality be like?

What would be her dynamic between Glitchtrap, Vanny, and Dr. Rabbit be like?

I've been wondering why the Princess Quest ending in HW2 is so eerie and creepy despite the fact that we just saw the main antagonist die, and I think I know why.

I have a theory that Vanny essentially turned herself into a virus like Glitchtrap and either took over your body and escaped, or she took Cassie's in Ruin, maybe both.

The secret ending is showing that Vanny was preventing Glitchtrap from possessing the player in that ending and she took their body for herself.

Which is why we see her back away in that ending. It's supposed to mirror the secret ending in HW1. Leaving the players consciousness locked away just like Glitchtrap before her.

So why the hell didn't Vanessa just stab the shit out of Gregory when she had him in lost and found? You can't say that she doesn't want to kill him either since she very clearly doesn't like him and getting near her outside a cutscene causes her to jumpscare and thus, a death.

Me: (Before the release of Security Breach) "Vanny seems like such a cool and creepy villain! Why does she act like a kid? What did Glitchtrap do to her? And poor Vanessa has suffered so much because of him too. I can't wait to see what their dynamic is like! Their mental struggles will make such a compelling story!"

(Security Breach releases. Vanny gets 4 whole lines and Vanessa gets 3 scenes and a few tapes. All the lines used in the trailers aren't in the game. Implying that their roles were heavily cut.)

Me: "Oh. Well that's disappointing. Maybe that new book series will expand on their characters! That would be the perfect place to give that to the people looking for it! I mean, that whole series is about stuff that happened at the Pizzaplex and she works there! How could they not give her a story?"

(All 8 TFTP books release. Vanny and Vanessa aren't even mentioned in any way, shape or form.)

Me: "Oh come on! Nothing? Well...that new Ruin DLC looks pretty cool. And SteelWool knows by now that people want more Vanny and Vanessa. Plus, we wear her mask in the trailer! That's gotta mean she'll play an important role right?"

(Ruin releases. Vanny gets one cameo and some graffiti on the walls and Vanessa still isn't mentioned.)

Me: "God damn it. I dunno, Help Wanted 2 might have some stuff in it? It looks like a simulation thing, so they could do something cool with that?"

(HW2 comes out. Vanessa isn't mentioned again. Vanny only has one scene at the very end. An ending that implies that the PQ ending in Security Breach is the canon one. Meaning that we may never see her again. Plus files in the game and a voice actor credit imply that her role was cut down again.)

Me: "I GIVE UP."
