Lain had a braid on, just like the one we see Rayla with in the first episodes, so I'll assume Tiadrin was the one who braid Lain's hair, and then to honor them and to honor Ethari, Rayla asked him to braid her hair the same way before going off to the mission with Runaan.

I wish you could be seeing what I’m seeing right now , it’s a beautiful sight, really. Selene is trying to teach her little brother how to use a wooden sword, I told her he was just three years old, but she refuses to give up. I didn’t know that trait was hereditary.
She’s growing up so fast, maybe because she now has a brother, or I’m just nostalgic and exaggerating things.
The other day she asked me to tell her a story, and I told her the story of two brave elves who sacrificed everything to protect the dragon prince, and how thanks to their sacrifice now we’ve peace between humans and elves, she was fascinated. I wish you’d met her, you both are her heroes, so she’s invested in sword fighting lately. Maybe someday she’ll have her own adventure.
Just now Damian took the sword , perhaps I should go help him , the weight is a bit too much for him.
No, I’ll let him and his sister handle it, I know Selene can do it , after all, everything she’s learning from me I learned from you and Ethari and Runaan.
I was thinking… So much has changed since you’ve been away, but one thing has stayed the same for as long as I remember ; I still love moonberry surprise!
