Foreshadowing is a narrative device in which a storyteller gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story. Foreshadowing often appears at the beginning of a story, and it helps develop or subvert the audience’s expectations about upcoming events.
#this episode was all about telling the truth#to me then#this didn’t foreshadow cas speaking his truth#it foreshadowed dean needing to#but being unable to speak his truth#since there was no spell working#in that small window of time after cas’ declaration#when dean could’ve spoken but didn’t#aw dean#but then#dean#went to heaven and learned#*holds back the tears*#that cas was there too#only cas wasn’t the one to greet him#and then cas didn’t show up when he got into baby#and then dean thought FUCK I FUCKED IT#and he went on a Universe hopping tour to#convince himself all would be right in the end#and he DID learn that there IS a chance for a happy ending#and with that knowledge he got back into baby and omg#omg omg OMG#I still live here#until they’re reunited on screen I will live right here
