Dean is a less angry sleeper when Cas is with him, but it doesn’t change his “bear-like” behavior much. Cas can always tell when Dean’s having a nightmare by how tightly Dean holds him.

Dean struck dumb (and kinda angry) watching Gabe and Rowena fumble around the bunker after their quickie. 

Cas very intently looking at his shoes. Dean still struck dumb.

Team Free Will witnesses a cavalier physical moment between a Human Witch and an ArchAngel.

Sam is shocked, almost bemused. Dean can’t move or speak or form cohesive thought. Cas tore his eyes away at first sight, keeps them downturned and remains still and quiet and as unimposing as a statue for the rest of the scene.

Just another tally in the pro column for Human-Angel Interpersonal Relations. These days, the only thing keeping Dean and Cas apart are themselves. Maybe it would seem selfish and reckless on their part because the timing is never right - but that’s just life. The timing will never be perfect.

One thought to whisper in Dean’s ear must be that Gabe and Rowena were together all of 2 minutes and got down to business. They saw something they wanted, realised that want was reciprocal, and so they went for it.

Meanwhile, Dean and Cas have known each over a decade yet nothing has happened between them, despite all that dire want. 

Cas is staring at his shoes like they hold the answers to universe(s). Is it walking in on his Angelic kin post-coital that strikes him shy, perhaps out of courtesy? Or is it seeing his Angelic kin post-coital from being with a Human that strikes something else in him? Something he can’t quite look in the eye. 

Cas doesn’t lift his head for fear of Dean so much as glancing in his general vicinity. Because he won’t be able to stop their eyes meeting - even if only for a moment. He’s afraid Dean will read his want all too well and reject him (again), or that he will read Dean’s want and be forced to push it aside (again). Or both.
