Last day on Earth - part 5

*One week later*

They decided they were all meeting at the Potter’s later that night to have dinner and relax a little. They hadn’t done it in a long time, and it would be good for them since all of them agreed they were too stressed lately, and it could help to remember how life was before they left Hogwarts.

Sirius and Remus had talked and managed to lighten the mood between them, which was a great thing, Sirius thought.

Remus had things to do during that day, but he promised he’d meet Sirius at James’ that night. Marlene had to go home but she would also meet them there later, and she promised she would take her mother’s pumpkin pie for dessert.

When she arrived home with the groceries early that evening, she noticed the front door was opened a little and found it odd.

Marlene left the groceries in the kitchen and went upstairs, finding it weird that the house was so silent. Her parents were usually loud people. As she was reaching the top of the staircase a terribly familiar laugh came from her parents' room. Marlene froze in place as she recognised Rosier’s voice:

Marlene arrived at Dorcas’ house, still unsure on how she was going to have that conversation.

They took Rosier by surprise and with a single spell Marlene tied his arms and legs down with ropes, making him fall on the ground.

Marlene already had her wand pointed at his head, but Sirius was more worried about the whole situation and pulled her aside.

Last day on Earth - part 1

Sirius was sitting on the bed, relaxed but distant, watching as Remus put his clothes and shoes on to escape to wherever he was always going these days.

They didn’t speak for a while. Things had been very quiet and cold between them in the past few weeks, and Sirius felt it was only getting worse. He couldn’t help the bad thoughts from coming to his mind about what Remus was hiding from him - because he obviously was hiding something. Sirius knew that boy for long enough to be sure of that. Or at least he used to know him. Now…

The war is getting into everyone’s heads. A lead on how things work inside Voldemort’s organisation makes Marlene and Sirius go against orders to investigate.
