More guilty pleasure American Girl art, this time the much requested Girl of the Year dolls from 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007 respectfully. I’m not a fan of these dolls and I refer to them as “upper-middle-class-nightmare-children” and eventually I think some of the later dolls look really cheap but I had the first one, Lindsey. She was one of the last dolls I ever collected so I have a big soft spot for her. Other years to come later.

I found some American Girl clothing at Tuesday Morning yesterday and bought Joss’ jacket and wetsuit for Kailey!!! I know I already have Kailey’s wetsuit but this just suits her so well!
For some reason, blue just works really well on Kailey.

I like the name Blaire, it's a cute name. So I hope the doll is equally cute and I hope her story is at least half decent. Also I'm not sure if we currently have any info about her character and what her story will be focusing on, but I low-key hope it's some type biology, specifically marine biology, because that was my obession as a kid.
All we know about her is that she will have both a lamb and a pig as pets, so she’ll probably be living on a farm like Nicki.
Should also note, if you want a Marine Biology doll, Kailey was very fascinated by tide pools and the ocean, and her Mom was a Marine Microbiologist.

Okay, idk if you meant for the Ask Meme (in which I did her here), but I never did general headcanons for Kailey so here they are!
- Kailey is Autistic, and both her parents, are, too. Her special interest is Tide Pools (of course), her and her parents all hate a change from routine, and Kailey has trouble distinguishing social cues and other people’s emotions, expressing her own emotions and ideas, and paying attention if things don’t immediately interest her.
- Kailey becomes an Aquatic Biologist and Environmental Activist, constantly traveling to photograph and study tide pools, and convince people to save their beaches.
- She once had the opportunity to work with Tess on a movie; since it was filming on a beach, Tess recommended her to the director to tell them about the Tide Pools for a scene, and Kailey got to hang with her and see how the filming process worked. She got very bored and frustrated, but Tess seemed to love it.
- Sometimes when she visits home she volunteers to take kids on tours of the tide pools, explaining about their importance and about the creatures in them.
- She met Kanani once, when she traveled to Hawaii to study monk seals. She thought she was very sweet,
while Kanani may-or-may-not have realized quite quickly she liked girls. - Soon as she and Tess hit eighteen, they travel to town and get their hair dyed. Tess’s hair looked mainly like this, while Kailey’s ended up like this (and stayed that way because she loved it).
