felician was born to be the camp healer who you drag your broken and beaten body back to, to have him level you with a stern gaze while he works diligently and without comment to patch you up until you're ready to throw yourself into the thick of combat again. instead they make him fight big monsters and shout go light boy go

this is fair tbh i think that he'd be a great support in a 2 wol vs 2 wol combat situation but pitted against people who have the same level of 'hydaelyn's chosen' as him it comes to the forefront that he goes into these combat situations by necessity not because its what hes particularly suited for.
i do think that he has an advantage against any wols that are particularly reckless because he does have a lot of endurance. He likes to hide and dodge which can make people desperate to land a hit and that's something he can take advantage of. Also glass canon wols or particularly ranged wols because again- a lot of endurance and really strong healing abilities. In a melee situation hes more forced to rely on rogue skills but his magic is stronger so if he can keep people at a range he will. anyway

felicians only scars are childhood scars from before he picked up conjury because now he can heal everything scarless style. the lack of scars creates an impression that he gets hit far less often than he actually does
#the instant healing doesn't really make him a more confident combatant either he still prefers to stay as out of range as possible#and relies on basically fighting dirty and alternatively wearing people down chasing him -> rare hits while he can get them in#kind of one of the things that made zenos obsessed with him was the sensation that he was holding back even in rhalgrs reach +#outside of namai#the only time felician divested from his usual tactics and really put his all into it was after the endsinger fight because he knewthere wa#no retreat or strategic advantage he could leverage

#this was really hard i went and did research in the gourd tag for this however i need to still go with my gut i think#my first instinct is to say that felician would lose a fight to gourd#not like instantly but eventually#they both have similar healing capabilites iirc abt gourd which takes away felicians advantage in a physical fight -> felicians advantage#against primals is that since white magic uses ambient aether he can essentially steal their aether to use against them#but that doesnt apply against another physical person#Felician could maybe win if he could get the drop on gourd but gourd doesn't seem easy to goad or distract so in a straight tournament styl#i think gourd would win#sorry felician#id say they could go out for drinks after if felician doesn't die but hes a sore loser so thatwouldn't happen </3

Felician's magic feels kind of like being dunked in a river. Exists on a scale from 'you are a leaf driving slowly on the surface' with Regen to 'the water is over my head and I can't move upstream and there's something alive in here' with benediction. There's not a lot to feel with his offensive magic except Rock Thrown At You but I do think that dia feels like a sunburn or when your arm goes numb. Prickly

Roleswap felician is my ysayle wol roleswap where felician doesn't leave uldah to become an adventurer and gets forced into the coliseum instead, and ysayle doesn't found her group she leaves tail feather to become an adventurer. So post arr/heavensward is felician and associates trying to topple the syndicate rather than ysayle kick-starting the hvw plot by breaking through ishgards outer wards. I'm think felician went gladiator -> black mage -> met Drusilla and became a reaper, mostly bc normal Felician wouldnt be a reaper but i like the aesthetic and i like playing it. He summons Thal so in the trial that exists in my head he can have lines about how uldah has tilted too far out of balance in favor of moneyed interests.
I had to step away from FFXIV for today (80 minute amaurot) but when I go back I think I'm gonna make Felician's roleswap sona
there are so many cute clothes in the game i want to change felicians outfit. the problem is that his default glam is literally the most perfect outfit ever
