Dream is not considered a prince. He does not stand behind Nightmare as such. Rather, he stands next to Nightmare as a judge. Those who die by Dream's hand are killed for a reason, and those who are saved have a reason for redemption. This is why Dream is considered the Scales of Justice
There are a few important things about Dream, but the most important is that he will hunt you down if you have not met the justice you deserve. He's especially fond of killing abusers and the like, so make sure you watch your back if you're one of those...
When not using his weapons, Dream will use brute force. He may not look strong, but he can pick up Cross and Nightmare at the same time(plus a third person if he really tried). He trains both for strength and accuracy and feels that he can never be the best, but wants to be.
Unfortunately, Dream has a condition where his ecto will summon neutral if he uses any form of magic. This can be summoning his bow, creating his arrows, or when he holds his staff.
It will only form neutral, but that does not stop the danger. Ecto can still be damaged, and it may hold together certain injuries, but damaging ecto can damage other things, from nerves to internal systems.
Dream has multiple weapons, each with its own abilities.
The Staff of Positivity is a powerful weapon. It gets stronger as Dream does, and while it does have magical projections, these are only for show. Dream will make these disappear in battle and use the staff like a bo staff. It currents positivity through anyone that it hits, which can be a bad combination since it will daze someone with said positivity.
Dream's nickname for the original form of his staff is "that old stick".
Dream's Longbow is a work of art by itself. He has pinpoint accuracy with it, and there is nothing he can't strike. The type of arrow does not matter, but if someone else were to try and hold the bow without Dream's permission, they would seem clumsy with it, not hitting their target like they wish to. Even so, Dream is the only one that can split the bow into his dual short swords.
Arrows are an important pair with the bow. This is what his arrows of positivity look like, but Dream will often carve his own arrows out of wood in order to conserve magic and hope to prevent his condition kicking in.
Dream's dual short swords are very important in Dream's close-up combat. His bow splits into them, and he treats them more like daggers than swords, but they are still deadly. They have the ability to current positivity like the staff does, but Dream chooses to never do this due to his condition, and the much higher risk that close-up combat would prove.

Anyways here a drawing of dream with a gold halo (I'm proud of the gold shading) which was supposed to be a flower crown but I got lazy. Also played with broken lineart which was fun because I didn't need to lineup the lines absolutely perfectly or do a line all in one shot!

Chapter 2 - Anger
Blue looked up at shock at Ink, incredulous. Dream still had his head planted in Blue’s chest.
“A good response? A good response?” Blue screamed at Ink, “Ink, you absolute idiot, you scared Dream so badly!”
Ink still had a mock frown on his face, still in a joking mood. “That’s part of the horror movie experience! And besides, aren’t friends supposed to prank each other?”
Dream looked up at Ink with a tear-stained face. His whole body shook. Dream tried to speak but his voice was hitching so much and was so shaky that even if he didn’t get drowned out by Blue’s yelling it would still be undecipherable.
“Ink, get out,” Blue threatened quietly.
“Say that again, my very fine friend?” Ink replied, not hearing him well.
“GET OUT INK!” Blue roared.
Ink jumped back in surprise, crushing the caramel popcorn on the floor. He wasn't used to Blue being so angry or loud. “Geez, what a great thank you. Now I know I'm not appreciated here.”
“Ink, get out, now,” Blue repeated, dangerously quiet, “You aren’t appreciated here, you aren’t needed here. You always make things worse and don’t belong in this house or anywhere near us. I hate you. Now, GET OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE!”
Ink reeled away, shocked. Tears welled in his tear-shaped eyes as he summoned an inky portal to somewhere, just anywhere else from here.
Dream whimpered from either the negativity in the room or in protest at his best friends yelling at each other, Blue couldn’t tell. He just wrapped Dream tighter around him with the purple blanket surrounding them. Whenever Dream tried to talk Blue just shushed him and whispered words of comfort into his ears.
Chapter 1: Popcorn!¡
Hey, just wondering for those who read this, what ship(s) should I put? It could be anything from Star Sans Poly to Errink to even NightInk/Vantablack. Also warning for a maybe a light panic attack/freak out? I never meant for it to be like that but Dream starts to really get scared later on
The room was dark, with creeping shadows around it. The only light was the T.V. which was illuminating the faces of the 3 people resting on the couch. Dream, Blue, and Ink were all piled together watching it. A large blanket covered all of them, with Dream holding it near his face, ready to cover his and Blue’s eyes if necessary. They were watching a horror movie series, Ink’s choice of course. They just started, and Dream was already terrified.

So this is my project I have been working on for the past month!¡ It isn’t perfect, but it’s acceptable. Basically it’s a lyric comic. I really hope you enjoyed looking at this, it took me over 36 hours! It isn’t Halloween related, but it is a bit darker than normal.
The song I used is called Amygdala’s Rag Doll by GHOST The lyric reference I used is here Dream, Nightmare, and the basic story behind this goes to Jokublog. I did nothing but the art.
Gonna probably take a break from art/posting for a while, hopefully a week.
So an explanation now!¡ This was made bc I wanted to make evil nightmare and also wanted to see something closer to Janon (Joku cannon). This is basically Dream trying to hold on to help that Nightmare will come back, before realizing that he is gone. Dream fights Nightmare and looses badly.
The first picture of “Say we take what” is a drawing of Dream and Nightmare made by them when they were little. “had been torn apart” shows the picture being ripped in half (by Dream or by Nightmare is unknown), separating the two. “say we mend any patchwork discord” is Dream taping the picture together, showing how he still hopes that Nightmare is still there and will come back. “Turning eyes” is Dream feeling scared of “to the trypopuppteer”, which is how he sees Nightmare. An evil entity controlling his brother like a marionette. “Waiting for the” and “world to burn” represents Dream realizing the horrors Nightmare has caused.
“Say we take what” shows the picture of the twins torn apart again with the Nightmare half being pinned to the wall like an arrow. “had been torn apart” has a drawing of Evil Nightmare replacing it, again attached by an arrow. Dream realizes that his Nightmare is gone and what is left is a murderous monster. “Say we mend any” is Dream nocking an arrow while fighting Nightmare, mending the fact that he was wrong to try and give an evil killer mercy because he thought that his brother was coming back. “Patchwork discord” shows Nightmare catching the arrow. “Turning eyes to the” is Dream reaching out to his bow which was taken out of his hands, while “trypopuppeteer” is Nightmare smiling, having just taken his enemies weapon. “I can’t exhale anymore” is Dream covering his face with his arms, one arrow in his hand, while one of Nightmare’s tentacles strikes towards him.
“1,2,3” shows Nightmare’s tenticles try and grab Dream, who starts to bleed. “And we’ll tie the tourniquet” has a tendril try and grab the arrow from Dream’s hand. “Pull my strings” is when Nightmare grabs Dream’s cape from his neck. It is ironic that the image of Dream’s brother Nightmare being trapped by Evil Nightmare now has Dream in his twin’s place. “and swallow ichor” shows Dream’s yellow blood, the ‘ichor’, in front of Nightmares feet, along with his pin. It is implied that Nightmare has seriously injured Dream in some way. “Fire burns” has a tentacle wrap around Dream’s head and almost go into his eye socket. Dream’s eyelights are gone, with tears in their place. “When the rags are torn apart” is when Nightmare tears Dream’s cape, which is one of the last reminders that he has of his brother. I’m pretty sure this is a Janon event which leads to Dream’s new outfit. “I can’t inhale anymore” shows a see-though crying young Nightmare reaching his hand out towards his brother, whose crown is knocked off of his cracked and bruised head, with a puddle of Dream’s blood on the ground. The spirit of Nightmare (who has been dead for hundreds of years) is there trying to help his almost dead brother. I think that Nightmare’s ghost appearing to Dream after he gets badly hurt and his cape torn off is also Janon? Don’t hold me on that tho.
