EWPop Fest - Gilmore Facts

  • ASP and Dan have the original Luke’s, Stars Hollow, && Dragonfly Inn signs in their house 
  • ASP loves writing for everyone but favors Emily and Paris
  • They shot the 24 Dance Marathon episode at Birmingham High School in the Valley and it took 4 days to shoot
  • Requirements for a Stars Hollow Festival? –Food, Taylor being angry, someone getting their heart broken or put back together. 
  • The Ideas for the festivals come from real life, newspaper stories and making stuff up.
  • We’ve never actually seen too much of ‘summer’ in Stars Hollow, because the network wanted to keep the show in real time.
  • Dan and Amy really loved the 90 min format without commercials- saying they always struggled telling the story in 40 min
  • ‘Rory’s Birthday Parties’ was the episode where it all really started to click 
  • Dan and Amy were proud of the show when they left, but this time around they got to accomplish exactly what they set out to do. Sources- [x], [x], [x], [x]

Can we collectively create Stars Hollow? Like Harry Potter World, but for Gilmore Girls. Cause I’m 100% down to stay in the Dragon Fly Inn, browse Stars Hollow Books, have lunch at Lukes, get my late night snacks from Doose’s, go to all the town events and take a million selfies in the town square.

Sookie: Well what are we celebrating?
Lorelai: You ready? The Independence inn is closing.
Sookie + Jackson: Yayy... the Inn is closing?
Lorelai: not closing, closed. Were finished. It's all over, their boarding the place up as we speak. Who wants more?
Jackson: Well did they find some gold in the basment or something? Cause I'm missing the celebrating angle.
Lorelai: You should always celebrate new challenges and that's what this is.
Sookie: A new challenge..
Lorelai: Yes. They'll be some severnce pay, then nothing.
Sookie: Nothing!
Lorelai: Nothing but exciting new challenges. And Ive got another little piece of news for you. We can't buy the dragon fly because, I can't swing my share of the money,because I no longer have a steady income.
Jackson: Wow, thats great.
Sookie: I'm sorry was that an exciting challenge too?
Lorelai: Absolutely. I mean yesterday our lives were boring and predictable we had jobs, we were going to start our own business but now everything is wide open. We can do anything we want because were not penned in. Thats good.
