Al's Pancake World.

Gilmore-Huntzbergers at Christmas time:

“Hey Ace,” Logan plants a kiss on Rory’s head, shaking the snow out from his gloves. She is too focused on the cookie decorating to look up. He tries to sneak a taste of the whipping cream on the scattered kitchen table but Rory playfully smacks his hand away. “Uh-uh, I’m afraid we’re not going to have enough! And I don’t have time to make a new batch because someone got distracted by the tree decorating…” Rory gestures to her daughter trying to balance herself on a chair to reach the tops of the Christmas tree.

Logan chuckles under his breath,

“C’mon Rory! You and I both know Lorelai’s not going to care about a few undecorated cookies.” He slowly makes his way to his daughter, placing the big box he’s been carrying near the foyer.

“She was very articulate about her desert expectations! Old age and Pinterest have made her a cookie loving authoritarian!” Rory yells after him and reaches desperately for her coffee. 

Logan picks up his daughter from the chair and she kicks her legs in the air, protesting being picked up.

“Okay, okay…” He puts her down, “If you help your mom with the cookies, I promise we’ll decorate the tree together, how about that, little Ace?”

She nods excitedly and rushes back to Rory. 

“And you might even get an early gift, who knows?” He shrugs playfully. As Rory gives Logan a questioning look,

“Woof-woof”, a weak yet deep bark makes itself heard.
