This is self-indulgent. Here, take it.
Joey Batey in Variety interview
Three thoughts:
1. Okay you asked for this.
2. Don't think about Joey Batey singing in the shower. *mental image* Oh well I tried.
3. Thank you for not buttoning your shirt.
The bashful/ borderline uncomfortable smile is pretty cute
It is more than cute, it is adorable. Though I wish Joey Batey wasn't as nervous and he seemed to be during this whole interview. I understand to well about anxiety and how hard it can be. I don't know how he does it some times. Also, I love the fact he doesn't know how to button a shirt.
Jaskier thinks faster than me and I often found myself being more charming, thinking and talking faster, being funnier and more creative while I was playing him.
Joey Batey about playing Jaskier
I can understand where he is coming from with having anxiety myself too and not always good at dealing with people. Also, imo when you are acting as someone else or doing something creative you can take on that personality or bring it out more from yourself. However, Joey Batey just might not see himself this way too.
In this interview where they showed Joey Batey some fan art, he let it drop that he plays and DMs a lot of DnD. Also like most of you have already seen in this one he seems to say Jaskier isn’t a womanizer he falls in love with anyone. And like now I finally understand!!! How he gets the whole pansexual disaster bard act so perfect with Jaskier. He knows how true bards are to be played X’D

Always re-blog cute adorable smiling can't button a shirt to save his life Joey Batey. I adore and admire him so much. (。♡‿♡。)
Short video interview with Joey Batey from the Polish premiere of The Witcher
Do you have any opinion on joey’s age and height? I was trying to google it but there’s two different answers for both. Like he’s either 6 feet or 5’9”? And he’s either 32 or 26? I’m confused
Joey seems to be a very private person and it's not clear how old or how tall he is, as you've said every source seems to be different so there's no way of knowing for sure!
In this interview with Joey Batey he basically states how old he is, you have to take into account when it was recorded too. He is also a little shorter than Henry Cavill, but not by much maybe a inch or two.

A daily dose of Joey on your dash. | Variety interview 2020
Old interview from 2016, in which Joey gives some background on the “King” music video.
“There are stories within stories.”
Well if that isn’t the most Amazing Devil thing it’s possible to say.
I have to agree. There are layers upon layers of stories.
So many people have differing interpretations of the song and it was important to write and script, shoot and cut the piece in a way that didn’t prescribe or proscribe specificity.
To me, their music is written a certain way that can be interpreted differently given the listener's experiences. I believe they do this with all their songs.
☕ Netflix was a bitch for not promoting Joey Batey as a main character
I’m not sure if it occurred to them how popular Jaskier would become. To me, that’s wild. That is literally the horror and the wild. Just look at this sweet man! T_T His smile! His bright eyes! His inability to button his shirts! How could you not love him?
“His inability to button his shirts!” 😂
Everything is done so far in advance for this kind of show that it’s difficult to adjust, even if they realized what was happening - y’know, that our sweet lanky angel of the lute would turn out to be a real life bard in the grand tradition, and steal all our hearts along with all his scenes! (Yet I insist he’s a generous scene partner; he just can’t help being a charisma glitter bomb!)
I hope they do more interviews with him in the future, especially knowing now how popular Jaskier/Joey Batey is.
“I play in a folk-rock group called The Amazing Devil, which is very sort of folky and almost Witchery anyway, and I've been playing in them for six, seven years or something now. So when the role landed in my lap, it did feel a little like kismet, ’cause I was like, ‘Well this means I get to explore all my favourite things...'" -- Joey Batey, Netflix I'm Obsessed with This podcast, February 2020
So is that why The Horror and the Wild is so full of Witcher fanfic tropes?
Joey Batey lying his sweet little ass off about not being able to lift a sword being cheeky about “not letting Henry touch his lute” and “not being able to lift Henry’s heavy sword” to the delight of the cute interviewer who was totally shipping Geraskier and stanning Joey and Henry’s bromance after he told her about the piano incident
Also Joey Batey:
PS: Damn, aggressive sword-wielding Joey is so hot. We need Jaskier to do that at some point!
Him looking so dainty as Jaskier, which is mainly due to his damn ability to actually play “looking dainty”, sometimes makes me forget that he is a broad-shouldered tall guy who’s a trained stuntman and sword fighter.
