I finished "To Sir Phillip, with Love" (Eloise's book) this week. I enjoyed the book immensely more than I originally thought I would. I really love Phillip and Eloise, and as much as I love Benedict and Sophie.
I might maybe be simping Sir Phillip Crane a little after reading the book, ok a lot. Though, not as much as Benedict Bridgerton, but to a strong degree nonetheless. (Side note: I read by audiobooks and the voice actor Rosalyn Landor is wonderful.)
Sir Phillip Crane has been shown very little in the series. Though, I still hope to see him more in the coming seasons. From the little snippets we get, he is played pretty close to character from the book.
Here are some things I enjoyed about Eloise's book in no order (warning possible book spoilers):
1. Phillip and Eloise's banter.
2. Philip's no nonsense straight to the point attitude.
3. Phillip loves his children dearly and wants to be a better father to them.
4. Phillip recognizes his faults and is willing to change.
5. Phillip tries hard to do the right thing and he cares deeply.
6. All the scenes at My Cottage before Phillip and Eloise marry.
7. Phillip saving Charles because he knows about plants.
8. Phillip and Eloise's sex scenes. Hot!
9. Eloise with the twins and how she handles them.
10. Eloise's brothers coming to save her reputation. Just the image of Anthony and Benedict strangling Phillip at the same time. Then Eloise jumps on Benedict's back to strangle him to get him off of Phillip. Really that whole scene while they are all at Romney Hall is so good.
11. When Phillip and Eloise tell each other they love each other for the first time.
12. Their first family outing.
There are several more reasons, these just come to mind at the moment. I've re-watched S1 and S2. I'm rereading Eloise's book. I know I just finished it but I'm like this with books I enjoy.
Also, because my brain gave me a quick and focused writing session, I wrote a oneshot with Sir Phillip Crane. I will eventually share it after I do some editing. It might be part of a series because I can see myself writing more with him. We will see.
Overall, I love "To Sir Phillip with Love" as much as I love "An Offer from A Gentleman".
