Last year I wrote two poems inspired by The Amazing Devil. Today I added a third poem. Here are all three poems in this series:
Poetry Inspired by The Amazing Devil
Part One:
The Ravenous Maddening Howling
Where do you go in the middle of the night,
When there walks all terror and fright,
In the deepest of forests,
During the darkest of nights,
I can hear the scratching,
Feel wind rushing from the wings,
Hear howling....the ravenous maddening howling.
There is not a sliver of moonlight,
And yet the wolves are out for a fight.
You left me here,
Trapped in the storm,
With all the lightning and thunder.
I looked into the pond,
And mistook the stars for the sky,
I didn't wish to see the reflection,
So I threw rocks to make waves,
To keep from tiredly trying to decipher every pebble.
I lay in the mud and let the green moss cover me,
Maybe a fae will sing me a tune,
To lead me out of this dark forest,
For I have truly lost my way,
Maybe one day...one day,
Just not today.
Part Two:
Against All Space and Time
Against all space and time,
I am lost in the fabrics
Hurled into stars unknown
So much out of touch
Hyper fixated, barely breathing
The hours fly by
The idea of food just seems too much
I'm still in my universe
Because that is the safest place to be
Time escapes through my fingers
And there is not enough left for all that I want to say
I eat up the sands of time and never full
I follow the fairy lights further into the forest
It seems that is where I should be
Pulled like the tides
And all I can hear is the music
Feel the warmth
Leave me here to dance and sing around the fires
Let me forget, disappear into the forest
Let feral fairies find me,
Let them have me for eternity.
Part Three:
Ablaze
I hear a melody
(Our melody)
from a dream once forgotten,
(Remember! Remember!)
I open the door to their secret worlds,
They beckon me to follow
with their eyes, their voice,
they reach out.
It downpours, with bright lights and rainbows,
The rain feels warm,
a hug I never knew I needed.
I hesitate not knowing where to stand,
I crouch to make myself smaller,
digging my fingers into the soil to take root into the earth of me,
I am the tree that whispers
I am the volcano that roars
I am the river that cleanses
I am the swallow that soars.
We dance and dance,
dandelions in the wind,
fire embers in the inky sky.
They pick thoughts from my head like flowers,
showing their beauty to me,
As I cry in wonder.
So feed me stars,
watch my ruins,
{I'm no longer there}
The world I created in whispers,
The world I created with words,
{For years, I was starving.}
Today they gifted me their fire
And, I set the world ablaze.
When poetry hits just right 👌
Awwww thank you! 🥺💖 I'm glad you enjoyed them.
