Can we talk about the fact that Cas' display of grace last episode was literally just to ruffle Cain's hair?
No because the subject makes me sob a little bit. I mean chances are Cain would be tough enough to take out a regular full powered angel - but it was honestly rude how he just stood there and let his hair flutter majestically back while otherwise completely unaffected. He could have at least taken a step back and flattered Cas that he was having some effect before he threw him to the side.
We’re not going to talk about how tired and unsteady Cas looked when he finally rejoined them after being chucked aside. Did he get knocked out? Have to take five minutes to get his breath back? Was he that dizzy from using so much grace? He glowed more when he was in his door-obliterating phase, you’d think in the dark when mustering everything he has in an attempt to fight the Father of Murder he’d glow a bit brighter and knock more than a few hairs on his head.
Let’s just get Cas a blanket and a mug of hot chocolate and try to look after him for a bit instead and make sure he stays off his feet? :(

I feel too that Cas is deteriorating - only slower than last time or rather: he got better at hiding it
He probably feels he *can’t* show it until Dean is better so he’ll just keep pushing himself and pretending he’s find and no one will call him out on his new hair ruffling fighting techniques. :(

These tags are both hilarious and point out something I don’t see much talk about in that Dean literally missed Cas’s whole decaying grace arc last time around - unless Sam filled him in on the depressing details of when Dean was off howling at the moon (unlikely because talking about feelings and the implication all season that Dean never talked about Cas) and Sam didn’t see how bad Cas got *either*… For all we know Dean has no idea how Cas didn’t die after the ominous warning from Metatron in 9x22 and considering he’s only seen him walking around in reasonable health since, maybe has willingly forgotten the information. Cas stumbling a little on the way in after getting thrown around by Cain is literally the first time he’s shown any ill-effects in front of Dean.
Communication, guys. COMMUNICATION.
*sigh* I know, I know, it’s the theme of the season to have them in isolation from each other. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. :P
OH MY GOD I JUST REALIZED THAT THIS WHOLE SEASON IS ONE BIG MISCOMMUNICATION ANGST FIC. And I love miscommunication angst in fic (god I just stayed up too late last night reading the best one), but when spread out over nine months NO ME GUSTA. I CAN’T HANDLE THIS WIP.
