how about if you hate me talking about trump stop focusing on that !!!

nah i’m kidding that would be ridiculously hard and i wouldn’t make you do that.

i talk about politics because trump’s actions affect the entire world, starting with minorities, and i, being a liberal millennial queer agender bi-racial neurodivergent female muslim immigrant with mental illness, chronic illness and disabilities, can’t really go around not thinking about what trump’s administration and their supporters are doing to people like me who aren’t lucky enough to be 9000 miles away. no, i’m not in america, but i have american friends. and even if i didn’t, and i wasn’t the centre ring of a venn diagram of people trump hates, i still have immense empathy for the folks who trump is screwing over.

i truly feel for people who are having a hard time right now. i’m sure you’re probably one of them, i’m sure it can’t be easy if you’re in the states, i’m sure you’d rather not think about it. up until about 6 months ago i distanced myself from any and all talk of bad shit that was going on in the world, because it literally gave me full-blown panic attacks just hearing a single word read by a newscaster on tv. i’m sorry if spn is your safe haven and reading reviews brings you joy and i’m ruining it. but watching and talking about the show is an outlet for me. i gotta write things down to process them, and it helps to direct the anger into the internet void. that’s why i talk about politics in my posts. (i’m sure that’s why you sent this message, too.)

tv shows like spn make political statements too (however bipartisan they are) and there are, as i’m sure you’re entirely aware, very few escapes from political commentary in today’s world. oftentimes i talk about trump because the show brought up the subject. and besides that, if you’ve read more than a few of my reaction posts, you’ll realise they’re mostly personal accounts and only partially a review (which is why i call them a “reaction post” and not a “review”), and therefore they’re going to be peppered with whatever i’m thinking about at the time, which includes politics.

anyway i’m not saying you’re wrong, and i get why you don’t like it, or if it actually triggers you. there’s just so much happening in the world, it takes me like an hour daily just to catch up on whatever trump broke that day, and that’s a fairly large portion of my time. i care a lot about it. i already actively try not to reblog too many political things, because it bothers the heck out of me too, but not talking about the massive issues the world is facing today would be kind of suspicious/problematic/worrying imo.

tl;dr – i’m sorry, buddy. but there’s probably still gonna be mentions of politics in my posts. (i’ll try and remember to warn for it in the tags from now on.) i hope you have a better day tomorrow
