in terms of the posting platform, i’d really prefer if translations are posted on archiveofourown.org, because then you can select the original fic as the inspiring work from a drop-down menu. i’d be notified that the translation has been posted, and ao3 automatically links it to the original work so people can find it. my only familiarity with wattpad is from people reuploading my fic there without my knowledge or permission, and its filtering and search options are incredibly confusing. if posting on tumblr is an option for you, i’d prefer that over wattpad, if that’s alright! but i will forever recommend ao3 as a first option. thank you so much for asking, and i hope you have fun translating! - Elmie

...because it HAS been 10 years now. i posted my first fic on ao3 on november 27th 2012. we're only a month and a half away from that. there's people still reading my stories now who found me in 2012 or 2013, and they're still here, despite me hopping through fandoms. i can't think of a single thing that gives me more honour as a writer than that.

for as long as i am able, i will keep making things for you to enjoy. <3

all my fics on ao3!

i have a huge pile of unfinished destiel fic drafts i'm never going to finish (so i might someday make a "abandoned wip" fic post), but i do also have a complete destiel fic ("Last Voyage of the Carnaval Celeste") that i really like and intend to post!

a couple of weeks ago i went through it, hoping to polish it up to post, but something about it drained all the energy out of me. i think it's just the overwhelm of knowing i kept it back for seven years in order for someone to illustrate it, and now i can draw well enough that i could illustrate it myself, but that requires... you know, actually drawing for three or four days straight. true, i could just post it, but posting it without illustrating would feel like i waited seven years for nothing.

right now i'd rather use my energy to write, edit, and illustrate the stuff that better represents where i am now rather than where i was in 2015.

but it'll happen. it will. probably not this year, but someday.

as for new destiel and supernatural fics - i apologise, but the answer is no. my brain hyperfixates on one set of characters at a time, and i'm now three years and three OTPs away from it. i've found a lot more freedom to expand the kinds of characters and worlds i write outside of that fandom, and i think going back (even if my brain would let me) would be regressive for me, personally.

ultimately, i don't think i had anything left to say about those characters. i had exhausted the ways in which i could talk about them - which is not surprising after... what was it, 119 destiel fics? several million words? i needed something else, and i'm glad i moved on. it was the best possible thing i could've done.

i'm pleased you enjoyed the destiel fics! i hope there's enough of my old writing in the backlog that re-reading them won't get too maddening. <3 and i can promise you, there's a lot more to enjoy in the other stuff i've written, too. maybe you'll find another fandom you like along the way c:

the answer is yes to both - it's a real quote, and yes, i've interacted with him multiple times on zoom over the last two and a bit years.

he was talking to my mother when he said that. he actually said "she's not an uncharming person" and then corrected his pronoun usage to "they" but i truncated the quote for clarity purposes. c:

i met him through the sid city social club, which are free weekly zoom meetings he and his friend mel host, to talk to fans. he'll chat for 15 minutes to one fan at a time, and ask about their life, interests, and whatever sociological curiosity he's obsessed with at the time. (these last few weeks it's been "what's the best idea you've ever had?")

the meetings are still running if you'd like to join! anyone is welcome. the next meeting is on july 5th 2022, 9pm eastern time. they used to fill up in seconds, but there's usually plenty of space these days!

aww thank you!! i love that you related to it, and i'm so glad you enjoyed it. it was especially personal to me, and i think it's one of the works i'm most pleased with, having put it out into the world. <3 and yes! i can't remember what i quoted from sid, whether it was in the author's notes, or whether you mean the quote in my sidebar ""[Elmie is] not an un-charming person."- but either way, yes, he said it. i've talked to him maybe... 10 or 15 times (?) over the last 2 years. he acted in a play i wrote <3

MOST IMPORTANTLY, he does free zooms with fans via his fan club, the "sid city social club". the next meeting is april 22nd 2022 at 3pm eastern! come along if you want, anyone's welcome~ the limit is 100 people, though, and the star trek chicago convention recently happened, so there'll be new people from there. so long as you get into the waiting room before the meeting starts, you're likely to get in.
