ID: a series of tweets.
1. oliver @oliverstratton_ tweeted, "Police in DC chased over 100 protesters into a residential neighbourhood. Protestors took refuge in houses with the permission of home owners. They did not break into the houses as is being reported on the news. #savejenny"
2. suckmyunicorn @suckmyunicornD tweeted, "This is Rahul. Rahul saved 62 DC protesters who were trapped for hours on his block by police. He allowed them to stay all night, fed them, gave them water, charged their phones, and most importantly kept them safe. This was no party, the police through (sp) pepper spray canisters," photo is a low resolution screenshot from a video, where rahul, wearing glasses with black square frames, is looking toward the camera.
3. suckmyunicorn @suckmyunicornD tweeted, "through his home windows, gassing them to try to force them out. They tried to say that they were criminals and broke into his home when they knew it was the furthest thing from the truth. This man is the perfect ally. This man risked his life to protect them without question."

YOURE TELLING ME THIS IS WHAT THEY'VE BEEN SHOOTING PROTESTERS WITH????
YEP! These are meant to be skipped into the ground and then spin into people's legs and dissuade people from advancing or move them away. FIRING THEM AT PEOPLE'S HEADS IS 100% AGAINST THE PROPER USE. AND THEY ARE SHOOTING THESE AT MEDICS. DOCTORS, EMTS, AND NURSES. AT CLOSE RANGE. THESE CAN BREAK YOUR SKULL. THEY ARE NOT A JOKE. THIS IS LESS LETHAL LIKE A BASEBALL BAT IS LESS LETHAL THAN A SWORD. BOTH STILL CAN KILL.
I only found out today they’re meant to be fired at the ground to bounce back at protesters... I don’t think I’ve ever seen the cops use them that way
In 1998 we first got to see the ds9 episode “far beyond the stars”, in which Sisko experiences violence and racism through the life of a black sci fi writer in the 1950s. 22 years later it is absolutely unacceptable that the story could have been set in 2020 and he would still have faced racism, hatred and injustice. We don’t deserve to look back at it as a “lesson from the past” because he would still have had to fear for and fight for his basic human rights - that is the reality of being black in 2020. Racism and police violence isn’t a story of the past, this is the reality we are living in right now, this is the reason why its important to fight and speak up. (This is also obviously about more than just star trek, I just wanted to make my stance clear and show my support in a way that was authentic to the content I post here. I want to make it clear that if you like my art and disagree with black lives matter, then my art is not for you.)
Molly Suzanna shared a story on Facebook that she had never told before: when she was 19, she ran a red light while crying, then was pulled over and forcefully removed and beaten by a police officer. She explains in the letter that she believes her situation would have been even worse had she been black — and she ends the letter with an important call to action.
The public needs to hear more stories like this as well.
Wow. This is horrifying.
Cops are drunk on power. Add any ism to that, you have a bunch of abusive, gun wielding, trained to kill, non empathetic, killers running around.
This woman got hauled out of a window, beaten, stripped, tortured, and humiliated, and she still is able to understand how white privilege saved her life.
Someone put red paint on the "Serve and Protect" sculpture at the Salt Lake City police building and it is such a powerful statement.
"Good art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed." -C.A.C.
