Oh and I think the casual viewer saw Dean's speech as OOC because from my experience the CV thinks of Dean as the manly man who kills monsters and doesn't do feelings? I know the CV's I know think of him like that. So because he hasn't explicitly talked about wanting a significant other and a domestic life (since Lisa, anyway), they don't think he wants either particularly.

Aaah I see, thank you for clarifying! I was so weirded out because I thought she was an actual character. That whole confession scene is so intriguing... especially when Dean used term 'people' because I love a bit of gender ambiguity ^_^ he really opened up in that scene and it just warms my heart :D
I am firmly of the belief that he said “people” because he meant Cas and although he was practically admitting his feelings, he didn’t want to admit that much yet
and yes, gender ambiguity is exactly the reason he said “people”
Hiya - I have absolutely no way of watching the episode at the moment - could you tell me who this Gina is? I've seen the gifs of Dean in the confession box and this is the first time I've heard that name. I'm very confused.
Pretty sure Gina is a girl Dean made up. Maybe he once knew a Gina, maybe he didn’t, but she was used as an example in Dean’s confession as one of the girls he messed around with and “made it sound like [they] had more of a future together than they really did” (sic)
