"Oh!" Millie gripped Amanda's arm. With a jut of her chin, she hissed, "Can you believe the gall of Ms. Timmons? Look at her! That is the fifth time within the last few minutes that she has walked past Lord Summers and Lord Hunt."

Amanda covered her mouth with her fan when Millie compared the unfortunate young lady to a peacock strutting about to show off her plumage.

Henrietta smiled softly to herself. It had come as a pleasant surprise to find that her daughter had fallen in love with the one man she and Lord Gabriel Rawlings wished for her.

When Millie burst into tears upon hearing the news that Lord Ryan Summers had been shot, she knew her daughter must truly care for the man. After leaving Lucy in charge of the guests, she took her daughter to her bedroom so that she could cry in privacy.

Thomas closed his book and set it on the small table beside his chair. “Summers, what the devil are you talking about?”

“Thomas, as your oldest friend, I hope you realize that if you are in trouble that you can come to me. I will help you out of this coil you are in.” Ryan explained.

Summary: A ball is held at the Rawlings’ country home followed by a morning of grouse hunting for the gentlemen. While some enjoy their time in such pursuits, there are others who prefer planning something nefarious.

“Anything to report, Charles?” Viktor asked.

His valet nodded as he laid out the duke’s formal attire. “There are a number of rumblings in the servants’ hall. It seems that Lord Hunt and Lady Amanda have decided to travel to Kirkwood Manor for the wedding. Lady Millicent is to be her maid of honor.”

“And when is this auspicious event to occur?” Viktor asked.

“The ceremony will be in three weeks.” Charles promptly replied.

“Three weeks?” Viktor chuckled. “Kirkwood is either desperate to have her or fearful of losing her.”

A/N Here we go again. I decided we needed one more Choices character to pop up. I have a feeling another shall show up in the next one. Won't this couple act right and allow these interruptions to stop? Again, the chapter got away from me. Hopefully, Lord Thomas can remedy things.

Summary: Lord Thomas introduces Lady Amanda to a possible suitor. At a dinner party and recital (aka torture for our characters) Lady Amanda has an unfortunate encounter with that lecherous duke. Screeches that are claimed to be music and depraved nobles, surely nothing worse can happen...right?
