they say “your trauma made you who you are today”

i say “yea that might be true”

but tonight, when i go home and drag my heavy body back into bed

tonight i weep, crying out “please, id rather be anything, anyone other than the person my pain forced me to become”

I wish there was a way to die without making your family have to grieve.

I would do it without hesitation.
