According to this link Fabi wants to buy the highbar on which he won his olympic Gold yesterday.

I just heard Spieth will give it to him for free and Lufthansa will cover the shipping fees.
It’s been a pleasure to watch you all these years, Fabi. It’s hard to believe you’re finally going to call it quits after this, but I can fully be at peace with your retirement knowing you finally got what you wanted. You’re leaving with the best result of your career.

Fabian Hambüchen won’t compete at the Rio test event because of his shoulder injury. He had problems with his right shoulder for years now and aggravated the injury in training a few weeks ago. His training is currently limited to pommel horse as well as doing strength training and physiotherapy. Fabi believes that the team will qualify to Rio no matter what and is staying positive.
FIG reports that Andreas Bretschneider will replace Fabian Hambüchen for American Cup. We’re right on track with the substitutions.
USAG says he withdrew due to injury but no word of what the injury is. I wonder if that means he might withdraw from Stuttgart too.

I haven’t found out what his injury is yet, but hopefully it’s nothing serious. Truth is he pulls out of competitions this early in the year all the time. Maybe he doesn’t want to aggravate something he recently sustained.
I just realized this is going to be Fabi’s last American Cup :-( He’s competed so many times over the years with his first appearance in 2005.
He’s gonna retire after this year is he?
He has pretty much indicated 2016 will be his final year as a competitive gymnast.
He was a bit more equivocal in the December edition of IG: ‘I don’t really feel like retiring. I said [I would retire] before London, but then I didn’t do it because I was in very good shape. I’m still holding up very well. So I’m seriously thinking about continuing gymnastics after Rio, but I still can’t say at which level.’
LOL I don’t want him or Marcel to retire because Germany’s MAG team will surely drop off the map.
Honestly I keep forgetting that Marcel is actually competing atm, his comeback hasn’t exactly been astounding. I wonder if he’ll stick around after Rio
I’m trying to brace myself for Fabi’s retirement, it’s going to hurt.
After a year with MTV Stuttgart, Fabian Hambüchen is returning to KTV Obere Lahn in preparation for Rio 2016. Fabi also says 2016 will be his last year as a gymnast and wants to spend the year with friends he already has from the club. I’m not ready for the end of the Fabi era.
