Everyone’s just jumping the gun because she looks like she’s gained a bit of weight in recent photos from the master class. But why the hell is anyone even focusing on that? She looks absolutely fine. Since the Olympics are over and she’s not training, I think she can afford to enjoy some things for a while. She’s certainly earned it.

! FAN MAIL FOR ALIYA MUSTAFINA ALERT ! 😊

As you know, there is almost no “club system” in Russia (it exists, but it’s poor except for some clubs + some gymnasts represent several clubs simultaneously what may confuse you), it’s almost impossible for foreign fans to send any gifts for Russian gymnasts.

That is why with the permission of Aliya Mustafina I’m organizing Birthday fan-mail for her. Her Birthday is on the 30th of September. But I’ll meet her in the early October, so all your letters and gifts must reach the destination in time.

I did it last year, and in 2014 too. So when all the presents arrive, I meet Aliya and take a picture of her with presents. In 2014 many Russian fans sent me money on my debit card and i bought her a bracelet from all her fans. In 2015 there were some gifts and letters from certain ppl (a painting, a bear…). In general, I promise that if you send me something, Aliya will get it and you will see it on the photo with her.

It can be anything: souvenirs from your country, your drawings, some personal letters, toys and so on - anything you can think of and put into a parcel.

Because I won’t give the home address of my parents to fake pages. (I technically don’t live there, I live with my BF, BUT I visit my parents once-twice a week, so I will take all the post which comes to this address).

I’m attaching some pictures just for the proof that I’m doing it for my friend (bcz I want to make her happy 😘), nor for myself, bcz I’m always honest with ppl who trust me.

                  Interview with Aliya’s dad, Farhat Mustafin

(While Aliya was in Rio her parents went to the little village called Maloe Riobushkino near Novgorod)

- Hello Farhat Ahatovich, are you reconnecting with your roots?

- I grew up here, so I go every summer. Before the Olympics I joked that I’m going to RIObushkino.

- Did you want to go to Rio?

- Rio is very far. But more importantly, Aliya says that she gets really nervous when her family is watching from the stands. So we just stay home and watch the broadcast. Lena (Aliya’s mom) gets so overwhelmed at times, she can’t even watch the competition live. She watches the replay later.  

- Did you call Aliya right after she won bars gold?

- No, she send us a message, then we talked. She said she did not expect it to go that well and was afraid of making a mistake. She also told us that it was probably the last routine of her career.  

- Maybe she will change her mind?

- I don’t know. Artistic gymnastics in our country is going through a tough time. And I think the team still needs Aliya. She’s a team leader, everyone looks up to her. On the other hand four years is a very long time. Is this really necessary? She had a lot of injuries that took long time to heel. I think my daughter will rest for a year or two ant than she’ll decide what to do next .

- Aliya was supporting and comforting 17-year old Seda Tuthalian during Olympic competition. Are they friends?

- Aliya is a type of person who is always ready to help, she is very kind. Seda is still a kid. She was very disappointed when during AA she did great on beam and fell out of her dismount. She hit everything and then this unfortunate mistake happened! So Aliya comforted her. She’s actually more concerned about her teammates than about herself.

- In AA competition Aliya  won bronze by 0,116 points, and Shang Chunsong of Chine was off the podium.  People from Chinese team implied that Aliya got some help from the judges. Do you care to object?

- Of course Shang was disappointed. If she was half a point behind- she would not say a thing. And her coaches won’t complain. This is really a shame (to lose by such a small margin). But the judging was fair. Aliya got very low scores on beam and FX because she made mistakes.  Gymnastics is a sport where couple of centimeters can decide everything. You can fall head first from the bars and end up at the hospital. So Shang should not be sad. She is not injured and will get hers in time.  

- Alexand Alexandrow used to be Aliya’s coach. Why did they part ways?

- Oh, that is a long story. I remember them not talking to each other for 4 days straight. Two years ago Alexandr Sergeevich left Russia and started caching Brazil WAG team.  They met in Rio, Aliya said they had a great talk

- Is Sergey Starkin as strict as Alexandrov?

- He is softer. He took up such a hard project… I mean Aliya. She is stubborn and willful.

- For getting a gold in London Aliya was awarded a very nice car - Audi A8. What happened to this ride?

- Well, it stayed at the garage for a while because Aliya did not have a drivers license. Then she learned how to drive, but decided that this car was too big for her. So we sold the audi. Now she drives Volkswagen Tuareg.

- When is Aliya going on a vacation?

- After Kremlin reception and other official functions  she will come to the village - to get some fresh air, eat fresh fruit.. Then she’ll go to Spain with the rest of the team. If I’m not mistaken, they are going to Mallorca. She likes it there.

- Have you met her boyfriend, bobsledder Aleksey Zaitsev?

- That is her business. She’ll figure it out. I do not even meddle in her gym matters. Only is a coach asks me to intervene. As for relationship with this Lesha - there is nothing to talk about yet.
