I think it’s up to interpretation! I tend to think as Pluto as an outside factor, but she does occasionally act like a normal caring human being. Now does she do it because she does deep down care about these people and misses human connection or does she do it just because that’s what she’s “supposed to do” according to her time line? You choose.

I think having these lines addressed but not totally resolved allows for broader character interpretations. Same for the girls, I see the Crystal shaping their destiny to have them all meet and care about each other and the princess, does that mean their relationship with each other is, on the most detached and objective definition, meaningless? I don’t personally think so, but I can see why in the most technical term that would be the case.

That I’m actively working on? Two. One set in modern day and one set in future CT, tho that one is more of a shorter one off, while the modern one is the main one. Tho the 2 are not correlated or meet in any way.

Tbh the way I’m writing my AU there’s an infinite possibility for all kinds of different timelines since Pluto is there, but also since Pluto is there, no character except for her ever travels through time or dimensions. (I don’t have any time travel in my AU if you’re new)

I was thinking a lil while ago to also write a small one off about Pluto’s perspective, but I have to work more on her character first.

The thing with Pluto is that I cannot make her care, as soon as there’s bias she’s completely broken to me. She has to be able to kill or save say Chibiusa as she’s willing to killor save the most vile person, without 0 hesitation or thought. That breaks her humanity ik, so I’m working on ways to still keep some humanity in her while not breaking her character in my canon.

Nope, there’s just one Pluto.

I’ve stated before my hcs for Pluto make her a totally different character than in canon. Not personality-wise really, but mostly her role and who she is.

Long story short, she’s an omniscient being playing a seemingly passive role in the narrative, but she has a very tangible presence.

I don’t wanna reveal her role in the story quite yet, but she’s not as much a character, as she is a “plot device”, but no less memorable.

Unfortunately when factoring her and Saturn I have to go one of two ways since in canon they are not much ‘characters’ per se as they are plot devices and I’m sorry to say it, but it’s true.

It’s either I take what’s given to me in canon and I try to expand on them and make them fully fleshed out characters though and through while incorporating them into the team in a more organic and compelling way or I go all out with the ‘plot device’ angle.

With Saturn I find a happy middle, but I’m only able to do so cause she never joins the team and dies at the end of my hc season 3.

I respect people who go all out and integrate them fully into the team and make me care a lot about them as a part of the main group, but unfortunately it doesn’t really work for me. There’s just too many characters already to dedicate a healthy amount of screen time and development and I’d hate to add members to the team just for the sake of it, there’s a TON of factors I put in when considering the ‘main sailor team’ and Hotaru and Setsuna just didn’t fit organically within the narrative I wanna tell.

My AU is mostly a ensemble, so that makes it even trickier.

I can’t decide between these two. I feel like both sort of encompass my blog well, a bit of a dichotomy. 🤣
