"My pulse jumps, for no reason I can name. He has looked at me a thousand thousand times, but there is something different in this gaze, an intensity I do not know. " [The song of Achilles- Madeline Miller]
“In the Darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun.” [The Song Of Achilles- Madeline Miller]
“A scream comes, tearing its way out. And then another, and another.”
"Philtatos," Achilles replied, sharply. Most beloved.”
"This, I say. This and this. The way his hair looked in summer sun. His face when he ran. His eyes, solemn as an owl at lessons. This and this and this. So many moments of happiness, crowding forward." ( Madeline Miller-The Song of Achilles)
I've recently read the book " The Song of Achilles" and Believe me guys, it was ages I wasn't so taken by a book. Even if I already knew the myth of Achilles and Patroclus and their tragic story, I couldn't imagine how much this book would break my heart. 🥺😭If you haven't done it yet, I really suggest reading it; not only because the story itself is so cool ( all the epic poems of the Iliad and the Odyssey are amazing after all :D ), but it is so magnificent written!
