If you haven't picked up Swamp Thing #1 yet, go do it! I might be a little biased but it was my favorite book of the week. Great to see a very vertigo-feely Alec Holland waking up human fighting memories he has of Swamp Thing.

At one point, in the construction yard there is a machine with the company label of "Wein Diggers" a subtle shout out to Len Wein original creator of Swamp Thing.

Seeing this, I tweeted Mr. Paquette... and... got a response, my inner nerd did a happy jig.

Seen on the left is the now released correctly coloured interior scan from Scott Snyder/Yanick Paquette's upcoming Swamp Thing #1.

The image on the right was released at San Diego Comic Con and was later found to have been quickly coloured pre-con by an unknown colourist to show during the panels.

If you haven't already seen this interview its a fantastic watch. This 1985 interview has a very young looking Alan Moore talking about his venerated 80s run on Swamp Thing.

Great to see some insight on how his creative vision of Swamp Thing came to be, and how close and supportive Len Wein, the original creator, was to this legendary run. For you Watchmen fans, towards the end Moore talks about his upcoming Watchmen project the superhero dynamics on world politics.

DC Dark panel Swamp Thing preview

DC released 2 interior scans of the upcoming Swamp Thing #1 at the DC's "The Dark" Panel.

Yanick Paquette once again does not disappoint with the artwork, though it would have been nice of DC to release a preview pic that actually contained Swamp Thing.

Of note however, soon after the images hit the net, Yanick remarked on his twitter that the said images, were not coloured by confirmed colorist Nathan Fairbairn, Fairbairn replied that the finished images will appear different in the final product and were coloured by a fill in artist for the panel.

This amazing Swamp Thing study was done by the one and only Yanick Paquette, upcoming artist on the relaunch Swamp Thing series.

This gives me hope, reading Yanick's twitter, its obvious the man knows the character and material. Look forward to meeting him at Fan Expo in August.

I've been back filling in old issues of Volumes 1 and 2 of Swamp Thing, usually an issue or 2 on a slow pull week.

This week I pulled issue 46 of Volume 2, this issue was released the month I was born (Mar,86) giving a sort of special place in the collection.

Not a particularly significant issue in the Moore run of Swamp Thing, but one that sets up the conflict with the Brujeria

Swamp thing #1 cover by Yanick Paquette

As told by the name of this tumblr, Swamp Thing has always been my favorite comic character. The big green guy who's motivations and morals don't always mesh with society. Swamp thing was my jumping off point into the world of comics, reading my friend's copies of Moore's run.

Yanick's art of ol' SW is gorgeous, I've been looking forward to Swamp thing that isn't Brightest day since the relaunch was announced.
