How did these fools go to class with the amount of alcohol they drank
I asked myself this question THROUGHOUT THE BOOK permanently

I finished reading "The secret history" by Donna Tartt the other day and the characters are not going to let me go. The book is kinda mesmerizing, I loved the language immediately (and read the whole 600-page book in one week). The characters are perfect in the way they're written. At first I agreed with Richard's view on the group. They were all so mysterious, ideal, that I couldn't even imagine how complicated and awful their lives in fact were (Charles was my favourite character until THE LAST CHAPTER, Charles, wtf are you doing?!)
So here are my sketch of Henry with symbolism attempt
Also colourful version for flower language, 'cause colours are important. But I don't like how the final work looks like (
Yellow lily - friendship
Lycoris - in Japan is believed to foreshadow death and grief
Purple calla - symbolizes sorrow and grief
It looks like a variation of "I'll cut your throat, that'll shut you up - You're beautiful" meme from "Princess Mononoke" XD
My uncle presented me a new stylus pencil so I'm now practicing in digital art a lot. This art I really love though I was too lasy to draw the whole scene (I hate drawing legs, sorry). Nothing indecent, they were just fighting (you see stains on Brut's cheek?) :))
any single high fantasy ever: elves are pretty, slender twinks who pass most of their time doing very ethereal and magic stuff, they only eat vegetables and they’re light creatures who despise darkness uwu
J.R.R. Tolkien: there are elves who are taller than two meters unironically. Their eyes shine of a terrible divine flame that makes them look like gods of war. They started civil wars for jewels. They can literally fight fire demons like it’s not a big deal and wrestle with werewolves with their bare hands. Fuck you.
THAT'S why I love Tolkien. THAT'S why I worship The Silmarillion. THAT'S why my sketchbook now is full of Silm elves
Practicing a cartoonish style with a doodle of some Lay of Leithian characters. :)
Also this kind of shit happens when I try to say elvish names out loud... I'm reading Silmarillion to my Grandma and feel confused constantly
Fëanáro, coming out of his forge : Hello Maitamo.
Maitamo : Hello Atya.
Findekáno : Hello uncle Fëanáro!
Fëanáro : Hello friend or boyfriend of my son who doesn't seem to have his own home.
I'm so used to the thought that Fëanaro is a cruel/mad/stubborn shit (fight me) that this is a very unexpected headcanon for me. But I love it! I wish this could be real... Like, Fëanaro doesn't like his brother but he loves his children madly and Findo is a close friend (let's call their relationship with Nelyo like this) of his son, so "okay, let it be, you can stay for dinner BUT you must do the dishes after all my brood, lad"
DAMN, IT'S 100% OK
It's more than ok
Love is not just romantic
Elwing, mother of Elrond and Elros, a bird-wife of Eärendil the Mariner
And some sketches 'cause I love how they look like more than colourful version (as usual, actually)
winter in valinor is always a tricky time for the noldor, given how many of them have ice-related PTSD
but then in the fourth age, Elrond shows up, takes one look at everyone's PTSD, looks at the weather, and goes "no". and whatever weird little valley he settles in is always a little bit warmer, and it never snows, and basically everyone who crossed the helcaraxë shows up there during winter to avoid the weather
some wonder how it's possible for him to drive the winter away, but he IS part maia, and the valley where he settled loves him enough to try
and it's certainly not polite, to impose his own will over that of the valar, but elrond really does not care. people are hurting. he will worry about the Will of the Valar when he doesn't have a few thousand elves suffering from PTSD flashbacks, thank you very much. right now he's in healer mode.
if the valar didn't want him interfering, they should have helped the noldor themselves
Pirates of the Caribbean x Silmarillion crossover, Elwing and Eärendil in the roles of Elizabeth and Will.
It was, actually, better as a sketch... but I like colourful version too. I am still fascinated by this beautiful ginger colour which I use to draw Maitimo ( Eru bless VistaArtista markers )
I was kinda stressed this evening 'cause of combination of factors but doodling helped me to relax. So here is another sketch of Maitimo and Finyo. This is during their life in Aman when Fëanaro was reviling his brothers (again) and their children were trying to safe their calm and peaceful life. Findo was upset very often 'cause Fëanaro and Nolofinwë were arguing permanently but Nelyo was always there to cheer him up
Maybe I'll add some colour into this sketch later...maybe
