Kuro was insanely touch aversed when he was young and Alec really helped with that, they made it their little own way to create comfort in a... pretty awful place. However, when shit hit the fan and Alec ends up with a brain injury that leaves him with speech and motor issues, part of their rehabilitation was to imitate the handshake they used to do. 

Due the injury Alec never remembers its origin, but Kuro does for him and in a way, it never was forgotten.

Heh, funnily enough I was exactly thinking about an AU of them boys being gods. 

I know Kuro would be a god of calamity. Purging the world in a madness he can´t control at night and by morning running away from the very same destruction he caused. 

Ray would be like Apolo. 

Trisha would be the deity of judgement. A rather severe one. 

Alek would be the god of rebirth. One whose steps flood the soil with life and then, just as quickly, rips it away. Certainly a curse to get on his bad side. 

Zarai would be a goddess of business fortune. 

Robert...hooo. Idk. He could easily be a god in charge of making the most painful punishments to agonizing souls to pay for their sins. You don´t make offers to him unless you just don´t care about anything anymore. I can imagine the price for his help is your very own soul to play with for eternity.
